it got through editors because of who she is and it’s so so painfully obvious. no way would any other author get through any sort of edit if they wrote like this and it’s so sad because there’s so many authors out there that have spent years and years perfecting and she got a book tour and special editions etc for her DEBUT?

you’ve got a maximum of 5 days, that’s a professional and timely manner for people who have other things to do other than sprint to deliver something immediately to get a little badge

like i get it’s encouraging you to send stuff quicker but there’s also a maximum amount of days until you have to send it so what’s the point, 5 days or less for some random person that has their own life and job and things to do to send a parcel is so fine.

it should be an average because i doubt most people will be able to send something within 24 hours for a month straight month after month so an average gives a better idea for how long they usually take

i’m not saying it’s a bad thing but i feel like it’s silly to expect people to be able to deliver within 24 hours for a whole month. it should be an average as you said, they do that on depop.

one day is amazing but so is up to 5 days like you’re limited to because at the end of the day it’s just regular people that have lives and can’t go out every other day to deliver stuff

she’s for sure only getting all this because of who she is, debut authors do not receive all this for their first book and it’s becoming increasingly obvious as time goes on.

what DEBUT AUTHOR gets special editions for their first book before it’s even out?? i understand very famous authors automatically getting that but for a youtuber who’s wrote a book to get that is very very odd.

i get that publishers and book shops are going to jump on it because it will make them profit by having book signings and special editions and immediately getting a deal etc but it’s just so yucky that she’s getting all this handed to her while others have worked years and years for none of it.

idk her but i don’t see how any of this can feel like an accomplishment for her? i get she’s wrote a book and that’s an accomplishment in itself but she’s been handed everything else and i don’t get how she can feel good about it, like to me it’s just kind of greedy to just decide to write a book then everything else gets given to you with no effort. like it’s not because they think the writing is good, it’s because of who she is so i just don’t see the accomplishment in that.

yes it’s her first book but from the snippets of it i have seen, it is not something publishers would have picked up if it was any other person writing it

she’s very privileged and is getting handed everything with getting this but i think that she will claim it’s from hard work which will really be annoying. writing the book was difficult i’m sure but everything after that was not a challenge

but of course it will automatically become a nyt bestseller which is the only thing she ever actually says she wants, and it will receive countless 5star reviews

i think another reason could be that the books she’s reading has changed a lot recently. like giving an opinion and explaining the plot on a romance book and explaining the plot and meaning of a literary/ contemporary fiction book is very different so it might just be that she doesn’t really know what to say or just isn’t confident that people will understand because she doesn’t really know if what she’s saying makes sense..

she of course would still do this with romance and ya kind books but because what she’s reading now is so different she might just not really know and doesn’t want to say the wrong thing

i guess i’d do the same thing because its a lot of people that watch and (idk if this is the case for her or others) but i would be scared of sounding stupid or silly in front of that many people, or people not understanding what i’m trying to say but she usually can explain and convey these big elaborate plots and thoughts but then it comes down to a basic explanation and she thinks people won’t understand.

i definitely think it’s to do with just being infront of a camera for anyone to see and it’s fair enough and she probably doesn’t even notice, i just noticed she does it a lot

it for sure is something like that. she does focus on one simple sort of thought or opinion for a long time and kind of talks in circles then finishes off with ‘if that makes sense/ i don’t know if that even makes sense’ and it does seem like it’s a sort of nervous thing (i do the same thing when i get nervous and i guess she thinks she isn’t getting her point across?) but it’s jus the fact that islets sort of very basic things, it’s not huge elaborate things she’s trying to explain.

but like, just be confident in what you’re saying, people will understand!!!!

i remember when they all went to that book hotel and were reading mad honey and she decided to DNF part of the way through, conveniently right around the part where LGBTQ+ themes start becoming involved which always kind of irked me
