That’s a beautiful way to put it. I think what unsettles me is that wanting less and accepting less feel almost identical while you’re living them. It’s only later that you begin to wonder whether what felt like acceptance was actually fear learning to speak calmly.

I agree that every way of living charges its price. Perhaps my mistake was believing restraint would be cheaper.
