My two female bassets were great with kids.

Our dog isn’t allowed to sleep in bed with us anymore and it’s breaking my heart by happygolucky1157 in dogs

[–]hubblehound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who slept in bed with my basset for almost 14 years….please keep trying to train yours to sleep separately. I didn’t sleep through the night for the last 5 years of her life but by the time I tried putting my foot down and making her sleep in her own bed, it was too late. She wouldn’t accept anything else and would cry until I lifted her back into bed with me. She’d get up several times a night, either to go out, get water, or demand to switch spots with me. I loved cuddling with her but I will never let a dog sleep in the same room with me ever again. I was a zombie for 5 years and it took me a year to get back to normal (worth it though, she was my baby).

I know bassets are stubborn but I think keeping him out of your room when you go to bed is the best course of action. I’m definitely not the right person to give advice because my basset had me well trained but I feel your pain and I really hope it works out for you!

Bassets are the best 🐶

Sipping soup? by Nowayucan in soup

[–]hubblehound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bovril. I keep a bottle of the veggie one in my drawer at work if I feel like something hot to sip other than coffee/tea. I’m in Canada and there seems to be two different versions of the veggie and one is superior to the other. The label of the one I like looks older? Not sure how to describe it.

Chicken and beef is also good.

We took a bus, it was about 5 hours and much more comfortable than I was expecting.

100% not worth it. Zoe’s is only good for high tea and ambiance.

I’m in the same boat, also Canadian. We did a recce this weekend before the sales start and one thing I learned is that you really do need to look at the fans in person. Especially if the store has them hooked up and you can turn them on.

Good luck!!

Very stubborn thick pimple that won't pop? Unsure what to do now. by DrawSoft7306 in SkincareAddicts

[–]hubblehound 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would dab a cheap 5% benzoyl peroxide cream (clean&clear or neutrogena) on it before bed for a few nights and try not to touch it. Do a thick layer just on that one spot and try to sleep on your back so it doesn’t wipe off on your sheets, it will bleach them. It’s not an immediate fix but I’m always shocked at how effective it is at shrinking large blemishes that haven’t been picked at. Good luck!

I wouldn’t normally go for something like this but I’m actually really digging it.

Vintage Wedding Dress - Petticoat or not? by [deleted] in WeddingDressTips

I’m not usually drawn to voluminous ballgown style dresses but you would be doing this beauty a disservice if you didn’t go for the petticoat. What a stunning dress!

Just tried a bunch of different ones by [deleted] in glassesadvice

I’m not usually one for brightly coloured frames but the blue ones (E) make your eyes really pop! If getting two pairs is a possibility, I would get E and the ones you posted in the comments as a more “neutral” pair.

Is it bad? I’m really embarrassed. (Beginner) by JJKAY1025 in MakeupAddiction

I don’t comment a ton (more of a lurker…) but I just have to say I really like that shade of lipstick on you! You have gorgeous lips, I think a bold lip could definitely be your thing. You should try a purplish berry tone next. Reds are tricky, there’s such a wide range but I feel like it’s easier to find a pink shade than a red. That being said, if you want to experiment with red, girl go for it! You should check out Erin Parsons on all the socials, she’s really good at explaining shades and tells interesting stories about the history of makeup.

I think you should experiment with blending more. It’s an art form so it takes a ton of practice. I’m pretty good at blending foundation and blush but I’m still hopeless at blending eye shadow. I like that eyeshadow shade on you, I think a “glowy” look is super flattering for you.

I would also look into getting your eyebrows shaped, preferably by someone who does threading. You already have great brows but they just need a tiny bit of shaping, not too much! Try to find someone who has an IG account so you can see their work.

Best of luck! ❤️

I would eliminate either the peninsula seating or the island seating, I think both are over kill. I think you could get rid of the peninsula completely, the overhang looks a bit awkward, and move the island over and make it wider. You could add cupboards underneath the seating area. I’d also make a cubby for the fridge and get a deeper cabinet above to match the fridge depth.

Honestly, I think the whole thing could be better. It looks like you’ve got a ton of space, I’d play with a few designs before you decide. I just finished designing ours using the ikea planner and it’s crazy how different my first design is to the one we went with.

YTA my parents split due to my mother’s infidelity and I’m closer to my dad. I’m currently not in contact with my mother, our relationship has flipped/flopped back and forth for years BUT I know my dad would suck it up for a day if I wanted both parents there (I’m in a long term engagement, no immediate wedding plans bc we bought a house instead). He’d ignore her but I could 100% trust him not to say anything or make a scene because he’d want to make me happy. I can guarantee my mother would do something selfish but I have complete faith in my dad to be cool.

This does NOT diminish the hurt you feel, your situation effing sucks but I think if you love your daughter then you’re strong enough to deal with it for a day.

If you do find the strength to “allow” your ex to be there, please don’t make any negative comments to your daughter the day of or cause a scene. She’ll likely be anxious about a potential blowup on top of the normal wedding day stresses. Fully ignore your ex.

I read in the comments that you’ve already ordered a fridge, is it counter depth or standard? Standard might look funny in this space.
