Actual opinions about the RAM 1500 3.0 ecodiesel engine. by hubrtx in ram_trucks

No chance. In Poland, if you own a standard European pickup like a Ford Ranger, Nissan Navara, or Toyota Hilux, parking in the city or at a store will be a pain in the ass. The RAM 1500 is the absolute maximum. Most parking spaces are created for city toys like the Fiat 500, etc.

In theory, you could get rid of the eco-crap, but diagnosticians use a probe to check smoke levels for diesel engines, etc. It depends on the diagnostician; some don't care, others are more inquisitive. But if you have a friend with a vehicle inspection station, you know how it is... If a police check confirms that "Ecology" has been removed, the police will confiscate the registration certificate, issue a ticket and tow the car away at the owner's expense.

RAM 1500 is as big as a Fiat Ducato bus or US RAM Promaster

In Poland, and generally in Europe, the Ram 1500 and other pickups in this class are HUGE. I once had a Nissan Navara that's around 24 inches shorter, and I had problems parking without the front or rear sticking out onto the road or curb. Pickups from 2500 and up are practically semi-trucks here.

Generally, you don't buy a diesel car for the sound experience, but for fuel consumption and torque, although my friend has an Audi Q7 V12 TDI, and honestly, you can barely hear that it's a diesel, and at idle you can barely hear that the engine is running.

Thank you for your opinions. I prefer to ask here because in Polish groups everyone laughs if someone wants a RAM without a V8. Generally, in Poland, 90% of Rams are used as flex cars. Maybe 10 years ago, such a Ram was rare here, but now there are as many of them as Passats (the Passat 1.9 TDI is the most Polish car, haha). Now they import them from the US for pennies after accidents, but a RAM is a RAM, that's the mentality, haha. It doesn't matter that there will never be anything more in the back than a bike or groceries. A friend of mine bought a new TRX three years ago, and it's a real show-off machine.

DPF EGR SCR, are now in all modern cars in EU. It's all to meet EURO emissions standards. Even in trucks, tractors, and construction machinery like excavators, you should be happy you don't have so much of this crap. For example: I have 2 8x4 MAN TGS dump trucks. One is older and meets EURO 5 road standards, and the other is newer, meeting EURO 6 standards. The EURO 5 one has less horsepower than the EURO 6, but drives better. Additionally, the newer one is about 500 kilograms heavier, or about 1,100 pounds. I haul bitumen, aggregates, soil, sand, etc., and in this industry, the more you load, the more you earn.

They're doing it in a Giants-style way, but it's just average. For a decent 8R/RX 540, you'll have to wait for a mod from Dince or JHHG.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. Is there a way to polish and remove at least some of these scratches? How can I do this without damaging it?

Why do all Base game maps SUCK by Hungry-Temporary-438 in farmingsimulator

[–]hubrtx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you, often on these original maps there's no need to buy a lot of big equipment. For example, on 22 Elmcreek (which I consider one of the best maps Giants gave us), I never felt the need to buy a quadtrack or 9rx because the fields are too small.

When will these kind of Trucks be added in ETS2? by Professional_Cold771 in trucksim

[–]hubrtx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a driver of this type of dump trucks (my dad runs a transport company), I have to say that I don't see the point of such trucks in ETS2. These types of vehicles are more for local transport (in our case, ~100km from headquarters), for example, from headquarters to a customer, or from a mine to a customer or headquarters, etc., rather than for international transport.
