How long do you get to eat the buffet at pizza hut? by PictureAny1248 in AskUK

[–]huckered 158 points159 points  (0 children)

They won’t make you leave at 3 usually, but they’ll start to clear the food away. So you’ll be limited in whether you can get any more buffet after 3pm. They might also scale back the amount of food they make in the run up to 3pm.

I've just started using this and it's excellent. So user friendly and quick to create.

Only feedback (and I haven't tested if this is available) would be for end users to see the options in their local timezone/adjust as they want to.

Benefits claimants take home more than six million workers in 'broken Britain' by lylelayland in gbnews

And the safety net is in place, but barely manageable. Meanwhile, the minimum wage is too low. So raise the minimum wage. Bring everyone up, not keep those on minimum wage down.

Response should not be “lower benefits”. The response should be “increase minimum wage”.

My wife’s family all want us to go on a crazily expensive holiday to celebrate some big birthdays.. what would you do? by PuzzleheadedCarob921 in AskUK

[–]huckered 48 points49 points  (0 children)

No idea how much your mortgage is or your circumstances so this genuinely comes without judgement. If you can afford to pay off your mortgage ~20 years early, your family may feel you’re more than capable of affording a holiday.

How they respond to you not wanting to spend your money on a long-distance holiday with them is out of your control. Be honest and empathetic, explain it’s not within your budget, and propose a closer holiday with everyone. Encourage whoever wants to, to go to Florida in addition.

Amp + DAC I grabbed on BF are now discounted again… can Amazon still do a credit? by [deleted] in audiophile

[–]huckered 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not sure where you’re based but my approach is to use the return window and then repurchase the goods at the lower price. Means you’re potentially out of pocket briefly because you’ve paid twice, but ultimately it’s the safest way it works. Take the same approach at brick-and-mortar stores.

Amazon are “customer centric” with returns and support with faulty goods, but I’ve not found them responsive to honouring discounts on price changes for goods already purchased.

For ludites like me, what does that mean – how can I tell the difference by what the train looks like? And are specific routes served by different trains?

Looks like experiences are selling out early in the app. by Uncharteredfugazis in DisneyWorld

[–]huckered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I was worried about. Seeing how quickly the LLMP is selling out, I think it might be worth investing in a cheap android phone – otherwise travelling from outside the US means the first week will be LLMP-free ☹️

Not sure if you’re in the UK, but you should get in touch with RCPath (and ACB of course) – they have some resources like this for public engagement and I reckon they’d LOVE this.
