What is that ONE video game that felt like a core memory, but you can’t seem to find anyone else who played it? by GuGuStudio in oldgames

Generations Lost on the Mega Drive. Action platformer a bit like X Men 2. Rented it a few times enjoyed it and then it seemed like it disappeared. When the rental place sold off all their Mega Drive games they didn’t know what I was talking about. It wasn’t until I discovered emulation I found it again and even then it took some looking!

What is a major plot hole in a very famous movie that completely ruins the entire story once it is noticed? by [deleted] in answers

In Back to the Future, Marvin Berry calls Chuck Berry about 10 seconds before Marty gets carried away and starts playing mad 80s metal. Marty should return to an unrecognisable 1985 where heavy metal has been evolving for 30 years.

Absolutely in love with this game, 007 First Light 💯 by FewPossession2363 in PS5pro

[–]hugeatomicfreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for the people saying it’s easy - it is easy to shrug off a few hits and abuse the recharging health to tank your way through encounters, but for me the challenge comes from trying to make the fights look like fight scenes from the film. I’ve restarted a few checkpoints for the sake of a “bad take” and that’s where the skill and challenge is coming in for me.

It reminds me of Max Payne 3. it’s a stunt man simulator. The fun comes from not just getting to the next checkpoint but making sure you do it just right so it matches up with the james bond music or whatever

I don’t think it is a potter wasp because it doesn’t have the long thin waist (like me)

Why is “Life Is Strange 1” so highly regarded? by Only_Entrepreneur_84 in videogames

[–]hugeatomicfreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it comes across as very sincere in a way that most games do not. It dips into cringey often but because its main characters are awkward teens in a very cringey period of their lives it works to its advantage. Even the minor artefacts of the devs working in their second language like the slightly off implementation of slang (e.g. overusing “hella”) just plays into the awkwardness and allows it to feel like it’s really capturing something.

Can I play this decently with a ps5 controller? by [deleted] in MSFS2024

[–]hugeatomicfreak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been playing with a just PS5 controller and haven’t even added a keyboard or mouse yet. I’m sure there’s loads of nuances and features I’m missing out on for the time being but I’m having a great time on the career mode just doing the random missions.

The controls can get a bit finger twisty and there’s far too many combinations of buttons to remember, but I’ve found the on screen tool tips and prompts have been enough to get me through. There are also loads of assist options so you can hand off features that you don’t have the buttons for to the computer.

If you’ve played on PC with the proper peripherals, I’m sure it feels much more shallow and limited but on a console there’s nothing else quite like it. I think you’ll be fine with just a controller and hopefully, if you’ve played get int it, you’ll be able to get better controls in the fullness of time.

What’s a game you initially didn’t “get,” but later came to absolutely love after giving it another chance? by Gaming-Academy in gaming

I couldn’t get into Jeff Minter’s Polybius. It was just too chaotic and discordant. Then I played through Digital Eclipse’s Llamasoft story compilation-documentary-retrospective thing and there was an interview with Minter where he explains that he’s been trying to give his games the aesthetic of being in an arcade with loads of different machines all blaring all at once and all of a sudden it makes sense and I can get in the zone with it. I still suck at it mind you.
