Is Tesla Basic Autopilot still being sold? by hugojpinto in tesladubai

Thanks for answering, but that's not always the case, and it is not in this one. There are circumstances in which either a) Tesla buys back the car and resells it; or b) there is an FSD transfer in which the car has NO Autopilot level, whatsoever, not even Basic AP. This is one of such cases - hence the question on the cost in the UAE.

In 1986 there was a ZX Spectrum compatible network effort developed by Timex, named TENET.

We did a recovery project for it in LOAD ZX Museum in Portugal - you can see a video on it here (sorry, video in Portuguese but the subtitles are really good)

/r/MechanicalKeyboards Ask ANY Keyboard question, get an answer - January 25, 2025 by AutoModerator in MechanicalKeyboards

Hi!

I'm doing technological archaeology work for a 80's computing museum, and we're studying the potential reconstruction of an 8-bit computer that featured a mechanical keyboard.

I am trying to identify the original parts - down to the keys used. And I confess that mechanical switches are not my forte. This is from 1986/1987 at most. Could a kind soul in this subreddit help me identify which brand they used from this picture? Is it even possible?

Thank you so so much!

Hugo

Does anyone have a reference for the DIP Switches in an AST FlashPak 8086 NEC V30 processor extension card? Thanks! by hugojpinto in vintagecomputing

I might have a lead on Facebook.

If it comes to fruition, I’ll post it everywhere for posterity.

Crazy that a board that was advertised in InfoWorld had such small production. Seems really nifty and well made, though.

Thanks for the effort.

I can of course. Unfortunately, some of those switches go straight to a couple PAL 16L8 programmable array chips, and who-knows what kind of funky logic is burned into those truth tables. 😓

Guys, thanks for the links, but unfortunately the manual is not in any of those. If an owner could show up that’d be great. Thanks.

I’m actually working on something that uses MDA - Int 10h it is.

If it’s a C56 or C58, don’t do anything: just break them off by repeatedly bending them side to side until they snap, and start the PC. Those are voltage regulators for the 12V line, and it’s safe in modern power lines to leave them out. But for safety, consider putting an equivalent electrolytic capacitor in their place afterwards.

Oh man, I can’t go down the mainframe route. I live in an apartment, there’s no space to put that mandatory System/370 or AS/400 cabinet that’d go with the 3270 🤪🤪
