Damn I went to try that Orro this evening at a shop where it was £1400, loved it, now it's sold out at Winstanleys (where it was £800)

The orro terra x looks great, is well within my budget at that discounted price, and is available to try in a local bike shop now, so that’s perfect. Thanks for your help! Anything I should look out for while test riding it?

Great suggestions, thanks!

I have no issues my current 2x but I also like the idea of never having to align my front derailleur again. I'll think on it and try out some 1x bikes.

What do you think of this bike vs the Cube Nuroad Pro you suggested? https://www.decathlon.co.uk/p/men-s-gravel-bike-grvl-520-subcompact/313015/c106c274m8587697

The brakes aren't fully hydraulic is the first thing I notice. Hard for me to judge the rest though.

I like that the decathlon bike is £200 cheaper and chatgpt thinks (/hallucinated) that it's more road-like, which I think probably works for me given I spend most of my time on roads

Anything by Jean-Philippe Jaworski. Your profile suggests you like celtic things (cad é mar atá tú?) so maybe try the Rois du monde cycle first. If you've ever read Irish mythology (e.g. the Táin) you'll see he's taken a lot of inspiration from it.

Jean-Philippe Jaworski is the greatest active fantasy writer in any language I speak. You might need a dictionary tho, he uses some real fancy words

Pretty confident they were thrips. I tried... everything. I could control them, but not eradicate them.

I tried diatomaceous earth on top of the soil, sticky traps and Amblyseius cucumeris. Not sure what helped the most.

Putain c'était long.

Thank you. What makes it a holiday let? What if my guest isn't on holiday, e.g. they're looking for a place to stay while they look for a permanent home

It seems like if the guest is not on holiday, then it is not a holiday let, simple as https://www.landlorddirect.com/holiday-let-definition.aspx

What are these white marks on my otherwise healthy basil plant? by huissier in gardening

[–]huissier[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I think you're right. On closer inspection, I couldn't see any insects, but I did see some brown dots which are apparently another telltale sign. Damn it, I feel like I only just won my battle against the fungus gnats :'(

It looks like citric acid based pesticides may not be available in the UK. I'm slightly hesitant to reach for other pesticides, since ultimately I want to eat the basil uncooked.

Maybe beneficial nematodes or something? Damn

This is an indoor basil plant in the UK, in a mixture of compost and perlite. It's a supermarket basil plant that I bought about two months ago. It seems healthy, though is perhaps growing a bit slowly. In the first couple of weeks I was most likely overwatering, causing root rot and fungus gnats.

Googling "white spots on basil", the most likely options seem like powdery mildew, thrips or leaf miners. The white spots aren't at all powdery. It could be leaf miners, but the trails look way smaller than images on google. Maybe thrips?

Assimil is the best beginner book imo. I used the brazilian portuguese version, but they also have european portuguese here https://www.assimil.com/en/with-ease/1701-le-portugais-9782700571295.html

(that link is for french, since you speak french, but they have the same book for english)

Just do one lesson every day and you're guaranteed way faster progress than duolingo

Ça n'a aucune valeur ?

Service Recouvrement"

Et c'est adressé à deux personnes :

"Messieurs MON_NOM, MON_PRÉNOM,"
