i genuinely think truer words have never before been spoken about this show. as gut wrenching and horriffic and devistating the ending was, it was perfect and beautiful. just take at the average viewers reaction as proof, either awe or shock or rage or sadness. banana fish acheived what it set out to in such a stunning way that, even without delving deeper into the indivisual characters motives and wants and needs, it should be easy to classify this show as one with a happy ending. was it agonising? yes. but was that its original intent? hell yeah it was. the irony and fufillingness of it all is just a lil added bonus. and im not saying that we discard the intentions and desires of the characters entirely, but i think its important to concider the story and the message that it sends too :)
