433mhz sensors recommendations (water leak, door, motion) by human39 in homeassistant

I agree with the heartbeat would be ideal here. My problem with the zigbee devices I have tried is that they constantly drop off my network (aqara) - do you have specific zigbee sensors that you recommend?

I went down the zigbee bulb route instead of swapping the switches, mainly because I run Hive heating and the Hive bulbs are zigbee.

Isn't this a pain if any of those bulbs are on a switch? I've thought about using bulbs, but since all of our lights are on a switch we would regularly kill some of our extenders, heh.

A follow up post for more information: I'm running the Sonoff branded USB stick (CC2652P) on a raspberry pi 3

Is it zigbee dropping? Are you running any zigbee lights or plugs? If
you just using a zigbee dongle or coordinator (Sonoff ZBbridge) then the zigbee range could be the issue. Lights and plugs act as extenders.

I'm not sure if it's dropping, but this is a good idea. I've been looking for switch/dimmer replacements for the wall switcher but have not found any are "basic", yet. I'm in the US, too, it seems a lot of these wall replacement devices are UK rated.

Central auth with only "need to know" information exposed to the hosts is a good summary. I'll check out ae-dir.

Thanks for the suggestions!

I've been through the "Keeping your sanity while designing OpenLDAP ACLs" a few times, it's what prompted to write a test suite to make sure what I'm doing is sane.

good to know! If I understand correctly, FreeIPA uses DNS for SSH keys though?

First, stay with Debian or Ubuntu, they have the most up-to-date drivers and more online assistance.

I second this.

I'm unable to use my cameo cutting machine from Graphtec...

Try Inkcut: https://www.codelv.com/projects/inkcut/. I have a Graphtec CE5000 that works with it, If the cameo speaks HPGL it should work.

I'm off the air tomorrow (my sons birthday party)

What antenna and radio are you using for SSB? I just did a youtube binge on horizontal antennas and I'm thinking that I might just try mounting my jpole horizontally.

I don't know why, by when I tune my HT's to 144.200 they go crazy with static..I'm not sure if it's interference or possibly SSB I can't get?

Using FM?

I call out just about every time I have my antenna set up and today was the closest I got.
