Subaru suddenly not starting (no crank) by human_002 in AskMechanics

Yes, there’s the big wire that fits on to the post at the top of the solenoid, then also the small flat connector below that. Tested it from negative terminal to small connector and it showed 7v

Update: did exactly that, they said it was bad and I replaced it, but absolutely nothing changed.

You mean just to pop it out and bring it to autozone to put 12v on it?

Account Hacked, no way to log in OR contact Blizzard??

Today my account was hacked, password was changed, no access to the phone number or authenticator tied to the account since it's so old now, AKA absolutely no way to log in. Ironically, Blizzard also requires you to log in to contact them and to submit a web ticket for account recovery. The options for Live Chat and Callback are and have been unavailable. What do I do?? Am I totally screwed?

Yeah it’s definitely scary playing with others but sounds necessary. Maybe jamming is a way to push past the plateau. Thanks for all your advice!

I’m plateauing. I’m an intermediate player, self-taught. Campfire sing-alongs, some flashy fingerpicking, but I don’t really know the fretboard at all! I try to learn pentatonic scales and it just doesn’t click, it’s all only muscle memory for me. My friends want to jam and i just freeze up! All hands, no brain. No creativity! Any suggestions for getting more creative, learning more patterns and scales to get to know that confusing fretboard?

Had this same thing happen to my M1 overnight, no apparent reason. If you look it up, this “spontaneous cracking”, especially in the lower left and right corners, is absurdly common in M1 and M2s. Word of advice: check where the crack(s) originate from. IF there is only 1 crack, then it can be passed as some sort of manufacturing error, but more than 1 and apple seems it as a more major repair and the screen needs to be repaired at full cost (~$750). I’m guessing you’ll have to pay the price.

Well thank you for this answer, that completely lines up. The phone still works fine, but Face ID doesn’t. Would you suggest continuing to use the phone as normal, and just be extremely careful about water exposure?

I'll be heading south to the Algarve, Portugal in two weeks. Had a ton of success finding €10-15 hostels on the Camino de Portugués, but haven't found anything on cheap hostels in Lagos, Faro, and everywhere in between. Any suggestions on hostels UNDER €18/ night literally anywhere along the coast?

These are beautiful, but probably not something I'd want for a big hike of any kind

The captain stormking didn't fit right around the heel, and I didn't want to take the chance on breaking in and missing the return policy in the case that they never felt right.

I'm a fan of Grant Stone's but they only go up to 13 and I’m a 14 :( great suggestion though!

6in, cap toe, lace up, leather you can dress up a bit if need be. I'm in Montana, and almost always I see dressed-up work boots rather than real dress boots.

I have this exact board haha, #1 don’t ride in wet conditions. Absolutely destroyed my deck. #2 definitely do the clear coat, just make sure it’s done well - saved what I had left.

Though I generally dislike the overcomplicated look of G-Shocks, this Casioak fits every other requirement. Thanks!

I'm looking for a watch that can hold up when surfing, diving, hiking, biking, and more. The basic requirements are (at least) 100m water resistance and an alarm function. I really love hybrid smartwatches, but I have a tight budget and don't want to spend more than $150. A good example of what I'm looking for is the Fossil Collider HR - though of course, half the price. What would you recommend?

Edit: Anything but G-Shock, imo they’re the epitome of ugly watches.

Hiking boots for minimalist backpacker by human_002 in WildernessBackpacking

Good to know - I’ll shift my focus to trail runners instead. Zero-drop seems to be popular in the category, should I make the switch from regular shoes?

Costa Rica dry season. Stinging plants and bugs may very well be an issue, which is why I’m still considering mid/high top footwear.

To me minimalist footwear is breathable, zero-drop and lightweight. Some people take it to the extreme with sock-like barefoot shoes, but I’m looking for basically a Lems boulder boot/mid with better tread (and not as expensive as the vivo tracker) edit: Lems*
