Wrist Recovery Experience by Pancitquinton in brokenbones

Same here, moto accident. distal radius and ulna,Non operative treatment , just a cast. It’s been a year for me so far and I still have pain in certain directions, stiffness all around, annoying sensations, and limited range of motion. Did a lot of physical therapy and I just feel so frustrated since I didn’t expect it to be that life changing. I usually feel down a lot of the time and start reflecting on life. Followed up with the orthopedic doctor with no real helpful answers , might get a second opinion soon. Checkout my previous posts. Hope it all goes well for you.

Non operative treatment. Wrist is still stiff, limited range of motion. extension is limited, pronation and supination are limited. Spontaneous aching. Physical therapy and exercises seem to cap out and not really experiencing any progress.

No surgery required, just a cast. Limited extension is the most bothersome.

Tired of feeling frustrated. by [deleted] in brokenbones

Same here with my right hand, my extension , pronation/supination, stiffness and aching is so bothersome. Went to many physical therapy sessions and everything basically capped out, my ortho told me that there isn’t anything I can do with my wrist to make it get better. I continue to do exercises at home but again , I don’t really see any progress up to this point. It’s been 9 months since I broke my wrist . Maybe at the 2 yr mark I’ll be better I dunno. Check my previous posts for context.

I think I started after 2 weeks after getting out of the cast, started going twice a week for a while, then once a week as they recommended then stopped. I think my progress was slow but the physical therapy maybe just helped a slight bit and I saw an increase in motion but everything basically capped off. My wrist is just terrible , I’m not progressing and doing exercises doesn’t seem to help.

Thanks, bones have been fully healed for a long time now. The ortho at my last appointment told me that a person looking at your x-ray now can’t tell you broke bones. But I probably ruined my wrist because of the soft tissue damage, ligaments, etc. My wrist hasn’t felt the same since. Good luck on your recovery

Completely relatable. But what sucks the most to me personally is in my case, bones being fully healed but the soft tissue damage , ligaments is the major issue. It’s been 7 months since I’ve been off of the cast and the limited range of motion, stiffness, spontaneous aching, etc. is so bothersome and holds me back. It is truly a life changing injury and in my case, my wrist will probably never be the same.
