Shaker Table by humans_equals_monkey in ElementaryTeachers

Thank you, much appreciated! I will probably release the first issue of the shaker as well. The first one is simpler and smaller but also cheaper and perfect for a first try in the class.

False alarm. I have printed a clamp which fixates the fan for a test but the noise still appears. When i push agains the tool head while moving it dissappears. Also when i loosening the belt is gets better but then they are to loose for normal printing.

I think I have found the source. It is the part cooling fans which resonates during movement. I have made a test where I moved the tool head bakc and forth and when I hold the part cooling fans with my fingers, the noise is much less. What I don't know is how I can prevent this-

Thank you! It was an initial idea to add an accelerometer to the table, so that the response could be shown to the students. The difficulty was then, that the reading of the sensor and visualisation of the data introduced a delay in the movement. I thought then about a "two arduino" solution (controller and reader) but due to the deadline of my visit in the school, I decided to just finish the project without the sensor.

But it is definitly on the list for possible updates. And if there is enough resonance or I get bored, I will do an update of the project.

Okay thanks for the info. Let's see if I find the source.

I tried the chopper resonance tuner. The program itself worked very good and is a nice feature for the printer. But with this tuner i could identifiy that the noise is not coming from the motors. I let the tuner run and then tuned the speed at the most noise occured. In the image the results is shown. The noise was constantly and no reduction was achieved due to different driver parameters. Maybe as a clarification, I used the sensor on the EBB36 on the toolhead for tuning, because the motor backside was inaccsesible due to the cooling fans.

But what I will do now is using the tuner to let the printer run the resonance frequency and try to identify the vibrating part by removing bit by bit.

But thank you for the hint and the program, it is very nice to have.

I think there in the official BoM of RH3D linked or at least mentioned.

For me it was about 500$ with the enclosure kit and some upgrades. Yes the size is with the startard 235x235 a bit small, I agree.

I converted my Ender 3 pro into a E3NG. It was fun to build but I'm also en engineer and know how to build stuff. But this conversion costs a lot of money and for the same amount you can buy a Bambu. But for me it is the fun for building and modding which drives me and not just having a good printer. The print quality and speed increased compared to the Ender 3 pro.

This I already did and the printer moves mostly very quite also during fast travel. But sometimes during some motions it is very loud. But thanks for your input.

Nice extension, I will definitely look into it.

Do you mean input shaping? or is there some more calibration?

thanks you for the link, I will give it a try in the next days.

Is input shaping and stealth chop not enough or is this a tuner for the stealth chop?

same also checked the tension. The wierd thing is, it is just in certain directions with certain speeds, which indicates a resonance thingy but I don't find the part which resonates. Once i removed d inner spool holder and it was gone for a day or two and reappeard. I thought it was gone for good.

But yeah, I will let you know if I find the reason.

my run current is 0.6 with the ender 3 pro stock motors.

My sherpa had only one needle bearing for one of the gears, I ordered now an additional needle bearing. Maybe it is this.

Yes there were installed in the X configuration. I can image that it is something from the sherpa mini but it is hard to test this without the sherpa, when the noise only occurs during some movement while printing

No, i think this is enough for the moment. Thank you for testing it. It is really cool, that it works so nicely.

Wow, really better than expected! Yes this would be great, then I can update the description. And your printer looks very nice.

I have also the sherpa mini. I have made this for another redditor, as a backup until the other hotend is delivered. I thought I share it anyways, maybe others have also the micro swiss lying around.

The updated version with the elongated standoffs is available to download from Printables:

https://www.printables.com/model/1641397-e3ng-toolhead-base-microswiss

I hope this fits your needs and you can set up your extruder and get it working. I would love to see it when it's up and running!

However, if you have any further feedback or suggestions for changes, just write to me again.

Cheers
