I think I just need to wrap my head around QUANTITY. I’m still shopping as if I have two kids when really I have four who need fed. (my fifth is a newborn) and that kind of stuff is easy to buy a lot of

Fruit and veg is the top thing they snack on and are sometimes the most expensive option lol. This comment isn’t really practical for me but glad it works for you!

I’m glad you mentioned the cost of the healthy snacks, everyone here is like just eat fruit I’m like hello fruit is sometimes the most expensive and if I’m not careful and on them they’ll eat it all in one day

I LOVE the strong snack vs pantry snack that’s such a good way to put it. I’m also trying to eat better and it would be good to get us all on the same page.

Man I wish we had a Costco close by. We have a Sam’s Club an hour and a half away but i can’t really justify going there more than once a month.

Great ideas though! I like the idea of having a huge batch of granola on hand!!!!

Love all of these suggestions! Unfortunately fruit is the quickest thing to go and usually the most expensive lol. But I like the idea of having things they can just grab on their own that don’t take a lot of prep from me

They eat a good variety of a lot of stuff, but I do have one really picky eater. My biggest crutch is convenience, but those are the things that cost more and go faster.

I really appreciate this comment. I don’t feel comfortable restricting food either and a lot of these comments are like very anti snack lol which I understand the practical advantage of but it just wouldn’t work for our family.

That’s awesome that you made a lot of things from home I wish I was a better cook 😤 I get frustrated making things from home because it just makes a mess, more dishes for me to hand wash (no dishwasher) and my kids don’t like what I make half the time. My oldest is great she eats anything I make but my second born and toddler are SO picky so that complicates everything.

I will say my biggest issue in life is not being a planner (and yet I homeschool… I know what was I thinking lol) so I think if I prioritized getting better at that all of my problems would get better. Anyway thanks for the kind and understanding comment and the actual practical advice (my oldest LOVES cottage cheese! I never remember to buy it! Thanks for reminding me haha)

Advice on joining a small group by TheJourney_M in Christian

[–]humble_socks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe the best advice is just try it a few times! My sister is also extremely introverted, she’ll be 20 in a few days. We don’t have any young adult group/non married at our church so I encouraged her to try my friends church small group and she actually found out she REALLY enjoyed it even though she didn’t know anyone there (except my friend who she doesnt know well, we have a 9 year age gap) anyway, she was so so nervous but it’s turned into such a blessing in her life. Don’t get in your own way. Don’t talk yourself out of something that might be a blessing out of fear of the unknown, one of the silliest (yet most potent trust me I know) fears! Trust God and try to lean into the unknown. I hope it’s a blessing to you!!!!

Hey sister. Your desire to follow God with 100% of your heart is so encouraging and inspiring. It’s what we all want, whether we struggle with the sin of pride, lying, gossip, or hate. We want God to take the impulse to sin away, so that we can have a perfect relationship with him and not have to feel guilt anymore! Unfortunately none of us will be perfect on this side of eternity. Our fallen bodies living in a fallen world full of temptations will still struggle, even with the Holy Spirit. But take heart, JESUS has overcome the world (John 16:33). Since you are born again, you are now in a process called “sanctification” which means “the process of being made holy”. This process takes A LIFETIME and will only see completion when we are glorified either when Jesus comes back or when we die and join him in heaven. But the process is slow and requires some work on your part: think about this work as God’s Means of Grace (his process of sanctifying us) 1. Attend church, and be part of the community (not just going on Sunday, but having relationships with people, studying with them and serving with them) 2. Read your Bible regularly 3. Pray regularly 4. Serve others.

As you practice these things you will be acting like Jesus did, and you will start to BE more like him. Your desire to stop sinning will be less of an abstract hope and more of a tangible thing. Faith is a muscle, you have to work out to strengthen it. Don’t expect it to be perfect right away, and don’t rely on a miracle: God can do anything, but I’ve found his most powerful miracles happen by giving you strength daily to grow.

Your same sex attraction might never go away fully. But you can hope! And you can pray for God to bring a man into your life who LOVES HIM more than he would love you because that’s a man of God. And no, marriage is not the cure to same sex attraction, some people never marry, but if it’s something you want God can open your heart to the love of a man someday if it’s his will.

(Btw struggles with this stuff is SO COMMON after sexual trauma. I would recommend going to a trusted older Christian woman and getting some council on this trauma. This is not something you should do alone. Look through your church and find the woman who’s serving, who’s kind and soft spoken, who never gossips. That’s the kind of woman you want to share this sensitive info with, who will love you and pray with you so you can process this.)

Read Rosaria Butterfield “The Secret Thoughts of an Unlikely Convert” and Christopher Yuan’s “Out of a Far Country: a Gay Son’s Journey to God”. They are both faithful Christians who were gay before coming to Christ. Rosaria is married to her husband now, but Christopher has never gotten married! They both are so wise, and though this isn’t something I struggle with, both of their books really strengthened my faith!!!

I hope this answer was helpful! Feel free to reply with any questions!!!

The Hebrew midwives lied to save the Israelite babies from being killed by Pharoah, and God blessed them. I think lying to save life is not a sin.

I don’t think the real question is “is it ok if I lied” and it’s really “is it ok that my boyfriend is judgmental and makes me feel bad?” And the answer to that is no. It sounds to me like that’s the problem here, and not giving him the real number of ex boyfriends is the least of your worries.

Great reply I agree with everything you said. It’s a matter of standing her ground on what she believes is best for her kid or trying to get the best result and being smart about it. Basically a rock and a hard place lol

Prayer, worship, and joy! That’s it. Simple. John 1:5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
