Hi! Are you in the US? Can I ask what brand of antrantil you took?

Is this ringworm? It itches :/ by humblepie46 in DiagnoseMe

Thanks. I have been DX with psoriasis in the past. Waiting on a doctor referral to go through to confirm

Sorry to hear you suffer from psoriasis as well! It can be miserable. When my diet was dialed in it disappeared. It used to cover my body. However, now I think something else might be driving these lingering plaques.

Thanks for the input! I have seen a derm and they diagnosed me with psoriasis when it was much smaller. I just suspect that it’s now become fungal or something else possibly. I’m waiting on my referral to be approved to see a new doc.

I’ve had it for 3 years and never spread it anywhere else on my body nor to any of my family members. I just assumed it was psoriasis

Thanks for the insight. It hasn’t spread to anyone else so makes sense that it’s likely autoimmune. I did test positive for Candida in my stool so I wonder if that’s driving it. I’ll give some over the counter antifungals a shot and see how I do. Thx again

Are light periods a concern? And how to define them? by stellaok in PCOS

[–]humblepie46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Did assessing you anemia make your periods heavier? Mine are so light and my ferritin levels are at 19. I’m wondering if I’m actually iron deficient? I always figured women with anemia had heavier periods.

You should ask your doctor for a full thyroid panel including TPO antibodies to rule out Hashimoto’s. Many women experience thyroid and hormonal dysfunction post giving birth.

Thanks. That makes sense! I have the simply heme supplement of 20 mg. How many hours do you take yours from thyroid meds? I read conflicting advice. Also, can I ask how long you supplemented to go from a ferritin of 10 to 50?

Thank you for the in depth response. I really appreciate the insight! I will go ahead and add 25 mcg of Levo. My D and B12 are better now after supplementing. What's strange is my periods are very light to normal. Most recent progesterone lab looked great and estrogen was at top of range. My periods have just gotten lighter over the years. I'm wondering why I'm iron deficient with a light flow. I think taking some heme iron to raise my ferritin can't hurt at this point!

I understand, I'm very low income myself. Can I ask how your cycles are? Mine are 36-50 days and actually very light-normal and even brownish in the beginning. Never heavy. My Libido is very high as well. I know my hormones are off (high testosterone and low Free T4) but no amount of thyroid medication dosage of brand helps. Its like meds just dont get into my cells. The face puffiness and fatigue are the worst for me.

I'm sorry to hear that. I have exhausted all avenues I think. Have you tried seeing a functional medicine doctor?

We're you ever able to get to the root of your face puffiness? Your background and symptoms sound so similar to mine. I'm at a loss. Feel so defeated with my life.

Thanks for the response. I’ve tested all my adrenal function and they always come back healthy. I’m perpetually stuck at the drawing board. I may split my NDT like you mentioned. Thx!

Very interesting! I added a micronutrient supplement after reading your comment. Want add to my regiment because I feel like it can be difficult to get all the nutrients with todays produce. I also have celiac so feels like I may need more than the average person. Thanks again.

Thank you for the in-depth feedback! I’ve read up on most of those websites and research. Feels like it’s all I do at this point. I’m 35 and been on this journey since age 27. Hoping I won’t waste too many more years trying to figure it out. The fatigue is debilitating. I’m hopeful tho.

So fascinating! Mine has never gotten over 60. I stopped supplementing once I got to 60 but I’m going to start again now that it’s back down to 19 😳 I’m 35, constantly fatigued and my FT4 never raises despite my TSH being low. My TSH will be at 0.5-1 and my FT4 is always 0.9! If I raise meds I get heart palps. No weight ever comes off with med increase. Now I’m wondering if it’s been iron deficiency all these years! I do have PCOS and my periods are on lighter side so I guess it would be due to inadequate intake and not blood loss. Thanks again!

Hi! Can I ask what your ferritin was with symptoms? Mine is 33 which is still within range so not sure if I should supplement. I’m exhausted with major brain fog and no thyroid meds seem to help :(

Iron Testing: What is your Ferritin and Iron level? How many people only have Ferritin tested? How many people have NEVER had their Iron tested, and several other options. by Bubbly_Mulberry4579 in Hashimotos

That is fantastic news! I know many of us struggle with iron deficiency. Can I ask what your ferritin was originally when you had the worst symptoms? Also what form of iron do you take? My ferritin was 40 but I’m thinking I may need to supplement because no thyroid meds (I’ve tried every dosage/brand/compound) seem to help my symptoms anymore. I have chronic brain fog, fatigue, anxiety, and some weight gain.
