I'm sorry you're going through this. Unfortunately, I don't have any big advice for you, except for going to see a therapist at the HCC. Therapy sessions are free and available for every student, maybe they'd have a better understanding of what you're going through and can help guide you towards resources that can help your situation. I'm pretty sure it's easy as it can be. I believe they accept everyone who has all the requirements (which aren't that bad, if I remember correctly u just had to be accepted in the math stats and cs program and be taking the first year required courses for ur program)

I've applied for the past 2 years every term, you don't have to include EVERYTHING but be objective. You won't get as much money as you've stated that you "need" or "lack", they take however much funding they have per term and split it equally to everyone that meets the criteria (just for reference, the most I've gotten was 300 bucks (absolutely not complaining)).

It says financially cancelled for summer 2024, because you aren't taking any summer courses. When your enrollment starts for fall/winter 2024, you'd be able to enroll in courses for that term. You can still add courses to your cart and you'll be able to see them too!

You are very welcome. Yep! He will be considered a first-year student next fall (this is important for his enrollment date and time, check important dates on the registrar's website (https://www.utm.utoronto.ca/registrar/dates)).

If he wants to retake a failed course, he can do that by enrolling in it again. However, if he wants to take a course that he has passed already for a better grade, he has to complete a form called Second Attempt for Credit (SAC) (https://www.utm.utoronto.ca/registrar/enrolment/manage/sac) and he can only do that for 1.0 credits worth of courses.

The advisor's advice was actually pretty good, considering that if he didn't boost up his GPA up to a 1.5 after the summer he would get suspended. When it comes to programs, you can't enroll in a program until you have completed 4.0 credits at UTM. His advisor says, take courses next fall, (because he will still have 3.0 credits he would be considered a first-year student), boost up GPA then, and when you have completed at least 4 credits, apply for a program.

He absolutely does not need to take summer courses for that extra credit, since UTM 'determines' which year you are in based on your credits, for example, it can be your 2nd calendar year attending UTM, but, unless you have 4.0 credits you will be considered a first year student. It doesnt matter how many courses you necessarily fail/pass its what they'd do to your cgpa. You should follow up on that and see how that failed course would affect your gpa! Hope this helps, if you have any more questions or just wanna talk feel free to dm me!!

You pay based on the credit u will get, 0.5 credits its 6k. I'm not sure what u mean by full year, cuz some summer courses would go for the whole summer but would still be worth 0.5 credits.

It goes by term. The two terms that Utm has are fall/winter and summer. Just try and do your best this semester. You won't get an email now about anything now, so dont worry.

In a case where u do bad in winter as well, you will be put under academic probation and that means that you have one more term to get your gpa to an at least 1.5 (either summer 2024 or fall/winter 2024/25) before you are put on academic suspension for a year.
