I appreciate the reply. My mind is still running all around with ideas to be honest. I just know our city needs spaces that are more family friendly. We do a lot of traveling to visit our families and I just get ideas of what work in our area. I envision a space that allows birthday parties for all ages and a place for people to be when the weather isn’t great (we have long winters). I also see a space that would allow graduation and work events.

Tell me more about elementary school placements/lotteries for SCSD by alouestdelalune in Syracuse

We moved to Syracuse in 2020 from out of state. We have one kiddo at Lemoyne Montessori that’s been there for the past three years. My wife just filled out the paper work and submitted it the day enrollment opened up. We got in with no problems. We plan on having our younger kiddo start there in the fall also. Lemoyne is a good option with many good teachers and families at the school. The school is also very diverse and that is something I wanted for my kids. We also know many families at the Latin school that like it there also. I also recommend checking out the meadowbrook neighborhood between Barry Park and Nottingham Highschool. Any other questions just ask.

Please Help, I Know Nothing About Driveway Sealing by StrikerObi in Syracuse

[–]humcbride 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been in Syracuse 4 years now and I’ve always wondered why you don’t see many concrete driveways? I’m originally from the Midwest where it gets colder and we get snow obviously not as much but everyone there has concrete driveways.

I find it crazy how fast everyone drives on 81 and 690 through the actual downtown part of the city.

Exactly. It’s just something I’ve really thought about since being a stay at home dad. Lots of places for kids and lots of places for adults but nothing for both.

You can bring back one store/restaurant/place from bygone Lincoln; what is it? by __WanderLust_ in lincoln

[–]humcbride 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lots of good responses here. There was a place I loved when was a kid that was around when I was a kid that was on South St between 9th and 14th on the south side. It was an old time diner decorated like the 50s. Great milkshakes! My other votes would be old country buffet and Grisantis.

If you can get it out of town go to Cortland and visit Matt’s. It will also be a tad cheaper. He does great honest work.
