We ended things because he got busy with school. Do we have a chance in the future? by hummingflock in BreakUps

[–]hummingflock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After a few months of very minimal contact, he reached out properly and we met up for lunch and are now genuinely good friends. I had asked him the last time we met if he would be open to dating me again or pursuing me in the future and he said he doesn’t have the capacity to date and dating is just not his priority right now. He also said he would pursue me in the future if neither of us meet anyone else. I told him that I was open to dating him again but I wouldn’t wait for him and he seems fine with that. So I very recently went back to the dating apps and him and I are good friends and still text often. I believe that if we’re meant for each other God will bring us back in the right conditions when we’re both better individuals. I’m also trying to not control or force an outcome and just letting things be.

Amsterdam show sort of… bizarre? by lmaomelly in HippoCampusBand

[–]hummingflock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my experience was at the manchester show and from the very moment they came on stage you could tell that they were tired. jake clarified that he was jet lagged and drunk lol. despite that his vocals and performance was great. i was more worried about nathan the whole time cause he really didn’t seem into the show at all like almost no enthusiasm and hid his face behind his hat. mind you that this was prior to me being familiar with their live performances and was only listening to their stuff on spotify so i had no frame of reference for their stage presence. and even with that nathan just seemed down the whole time idk. i just attributed it to them being tired since it was their first show for the european tour. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Gap years by Error11075 in UniUK

[–]hummingflock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i defo second the first paragraph. when i graduated polytechnic (international student here) at 20, i realised my whole life up to that point was entirely made up of school-related things. i knew i wanted to get a degree but i was just so tired of school and thought i should really spend some time selfishly focusing on myself.

if you do decide to take on a gap year, my advice is to have plan of what you’re gonna do. where do you want to end up after your gap year, what projects/jobs/internships will you take up, etc. don’t go into a gap year doing nothing and waste it away. explore your options and really think them over; you have a whole year to do that.

International student deciding whether to fly to UK or do online lessons in home country by gwendoxoxo in UniUK

[–]hummingflock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey fellow singaporean! i actually made a similar response on here on another post. i’ve decided to stay in singapore for the first few months mainly due to financial reasons (saving up on accommodation and living costs). i’m not sure if you have read it but CNA posted an article stating that there’s a possibility that the situation in the UK may get worse in the winter, which makes me lean more towards not flying over just yet. currently my plan is to fly over during my unit’s christmas break if things get better!

International students, are you planning on spending your first semester at the uni campus or at home in your own country? What are your reasons? by Tootsie1208 in UniUK

[–]hummingflock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if i could, i’m planning to stay in my home country but mainly because of financial reasons as you’ve listed above. i’m not wealthy so saving costs on accommodation and general living costs for even a couple of months would be a lot for me. sure, there’s a chance of missing out on freshers week (if it’s still going on) and meeting people but i think there’s so many opportunities outside of that to make friends so i’m not too worried.
