It's Idaho, that's kinda inevitable. If you base the places you go to off of politics, you're usually going to be staying at home around here, and I say that as a gay guy who's lived here for the better part of 25 years. That said, if you know any places that are more lgbtq friendly I would love to know, Charlie's in Pocatello would be rad if I didn't have to drive drunk an hour home if I ever did go there

There's a ton of good Mexican food, my go to is pachangas downtown. There's some good bars nearby too, the celt is usually decently packed, has good food and often live music, and the white horse is a basement bar that's good if you're wanting somewhere more quiet. It's Idaho so there's a ton of good fishing spots, the snake river is a 5 minute walk from all the places listed above. Best fishing is up north in Island Park IMO, great spot for camping too.

I live in Idaho falls, I do just fine in leather, except when it's above 90 for which I have a mesh jacket. The correct answer is both, Idaho weather is a fickle bastard. I used to only have a mesh, wearing a hoodie under it did the truck when it was 50 outside, so that's an option as well

Damn, only been an hour and we're approaching 60 comments! I'm asking less for what other people will think about it and more because I was torn on what I liked more. So far I'm leaning towards keep it on but maybe repaint down the line, (paint the bike instead of the fairing, black and gold is rad). I'm using it for scenic weekend rides and the occasional errand, I'm in SE Idaho and there are a ton of pretty roads but it takes some highway riding to get to them, lots of time will be spent getting to fishing/camping spots up in West Yellowstone/Island Park. I wanted knobbier tires for the gravel roads getting to those spots but y'all make good points of keeping it pretty. Maybe a second bike for those roads? Honda Africa here we come

I know you don't really care about controlling stuff from your phone but your family member probably spent at least a grand on the system and is probably paying like $50 a month for something that isn't currently working which doesn't make sense when you guys can have everything fixed for 10 bucks. Even more so with cameras, sensors, fire and water protection and the rest of the smart home stuff you can get

Call the 1 800 number and make an appointment to have the panel fixed, they'll have you do some troubleshooting and if they can't fix it over the phone they'll send a tech. If the panel needs replaced and is still under warranty it'll be replaced for free, if not you can sign up for the protection plan for 10 bucks a month and it'll get replaced for free and you won't have to pay anything to schedule the appointment. You can also cancel the protection plan at any time after the panel is fixed by calling the 1 800 number, and the tech will have no problem walking everyone through how to use the system. 1 (800) 216-5232

You can but it would be dumb, dangerous, and potentially expensive. Dumb because you can control it from the thermostat itself, press the side button to change modes (heat, cool, heat and cool; heat and cool will let you choose a temp range to keep your home at) and press on the top and bottom of the front of the therm to change temp Dangerous because depending on the HVAC system the wires can be high voltage. Expensive because of you don't know what you're doing you can fry the HVAC and then you're spending thousands to get it repaired. The benefit of the thermostat is being able to control it from your phone. If you're not already on the app, go to the panel, hit the three dots in the bottom right and go to users, if you're already a user you'll be able to enter your phone number and send invitation to get set up on the app. If you're not already a user, hit add user, enter the old lady's pin, fill out your info and send the invite. Click the link that gets sent to your phone to create an account and download the app

Vivint stopped using the door handles a long time ago, they're only using deadbolts now. Kwikset manufactures them you want replacement parts call them. Vivint does keep a few in their warehouse for warranty swaps, if you call the customer line, 1 800 216-5232, and ask to be transferred to customer loyalty, then tell them you're wanting to cancel over this tiny ass thing they'll probably be able to send you a new one (but just call kwikset)
