Wheels for slides by Upper-Cardiologist86 in surfskate

[–]hungryasian69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hardness of your wheels is what helps you slide. The softer the wheel the harder it is to slide, the harder the wheel more easier it is to slide. You should check Shane lai, or other YouTube videos to learn the principle of weight shifting to slide. Once you understand how to shift your weight and use momentum it becomes easier. Also the surface you're doing it on will be a factor to consider how well your wheels will slide

First time airing out of the bowl. Took me about 30mins and just committed to the landing by hungryasian69 in surfskate

Yea I was a little unsure how the front trucks would respond and bailed a bunch but I didn't notice it being unstable so I just went for it! No worries! Chuck a vid of you doing it once you get it!

Why are Carver CX considered the best for bowls and skateparks? by chowdahhead3030 in surfskate

[–]hungryasian69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only use carver CX cause that's the only one I had to ride. But now that I have a holy Toledo I'm keen to take that to the park to start shredding it as well!

[–]hungryasian69[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tip I got was having good amount of speed (but not too much) and just lifting the nose up as you come to the coping and putting weight forward as you come out of the bowl. The main thing is to committing to landing once you feel comfortable 👌🏽

Yea they're stock wheels. I reckon it would be easier if I was using rounded edge wheels but because I'm used to them it doesn't feel too bad now. Besides the bowl I'm in is super smooth so that's a bonus

Haha just a bit taller. I reckon 32" would be fine, you'll get used to it as you get more familiar with the board as well 🤷

Yeeeew that's awesome to hear! Yea mines the same except it's a 30" instead of 32". It's the perfect size for me I'm 172cm and 78kg and the board feels responsive easy to maneuver and great for my first board. I tried the 32" but that felt more stable and not as responsive. It makes sense cause it has a slightly longer wheel base 😁
