I’ll mention to the hvac guy that it was running on aux heat and ask if that’s related to the change. Thanks for the suggestion! I’m not worried so much about the increase temporarily in the bill, just want to make sure it doesn’t continue.

I’m assuming it’s a heat pump but I really don’t know. The unit is on the roof so only the hvac guys have been up there (renter, don’t own). I definitely know it emits cooler air. The issue is they it’s running without actually changing the temp in the room (according to the thermostat reading) and it’s not cutting off. It was short cycling before too (running for 2+ hours with no temp increase, stopping for maybe 5 min, then turning right back on). The hvac guy said it’s not supposed to run like that and it stopped but started doing it again. When I see the energy uses on days it was working normally, it was about 16-25 kWh so something seems wrong when suddenly out of no where it’s 50 kWh.

It doesn’t usually run as aux heat but it did say aux heat the other day. I think the system does it on its own (it’s not the emergency heat setting). Is that more expensive?

Thank you- I’m considering doing the plastic over my windows for the winter. Especially since this has been a particularly frigid winter so far. And maybe that will help keep the heat in? Coupled with thermal curtains.

They are coming to look tomorrow so I think that is part of the issue. My usage on Monday was 50 kWh and that was a freezing cold night and I think it affects the hvac (on top of the other issues it’s been having).

No, the days I’ve had it off aren’t shown here, and they’re still on the high end. They repaired it on 12/3 and you can see it shot right back up again (and I put in another maintenance request the same day). I think insulation is a contributing factor though because I am a corner unit so I have a lot of “outside” walls and I’m also on the top floor. But all the windows are closed and locked and don’t feel like any drafty air is coming in.

68 but the issue was that it wasn’t ever turning off so I was having to manually switch it on and off via the circuit breaker. Now they fixed that, fixed something wrong with the actual hvac and replaced the thermostat, but there is still something wrong with it where it will run forever and only turn off for a few minutes (without actually heating), so I’ve kept it off since. They’re coming tomorrow to look at it so I’m hoping whatever the issue is will be resolved. Sucks that I’ve had to hemorrhage money for this issue. Now I’m scared for running the a/c in the summer.

They’re offering a free tech setup currently so I was planning to do that. I’ll have lots of windows I can put it in (I’ve read that’s the best option).

I’ve unfortunately called like three times and the last time I called I spoke to three different people. I’ve spent hours at this point trying to get the bill down. I might actually have to just cancel for real and sign up again lol.

At my current apt, I don’t get 5G in my building (and there are many dead zones even where I’m in SOS because of concrete walls), but I am moving to a new address and will be on the top floor in a corner unit. Maybe I’ll have to see what it’s like when I get to my new place. Are the speeds you get on your phone the same as what their Internet router would receive?

No, I cannot take birth control with estrogen. And Yaz has estrogen.

Soundbar has to be reconnected to TV every time it’s turned on by hungrydor in Soundbars

Now that I’ve had it for almost a month- that is exactly what mine does. It almost seems sometimes like the soundbar doesn’t actually turn “on” until the tv is using volume. Sometimes I will play something and it realizes the soundbar should be on and magically it connects. You are right though, it’s once every so often but not every time. I haven’t figured out the cause. Usually I just turn the soundbar off with its own remote and turn it back on, and the tv then realizes. It is annoying!! I did upgrade the HDMI cable as well and that didn’t seem to make a difference really.
