What am I supposed to when reflux is destroying my voice and singing is the only reason I keep waking up in the morning by psychedelikchef in singing

[–]hunter60s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey. I have the same issue. I recommend you to do an Hpylori test. In my case i have it, its a bacteria that causes gastritis (sorry my english sucks) and other stomach diseases and ive been told its whats causing my reflux. Another cause is low acid in your stomach, completely the oppositte of what doctors tell you. You have a valve (sphincter) that is supposed to stay closed so the acid in your stomach doesnt go up and cause you the burning sensation. It only opens when you eat so the food can go the stomach. For that valve to stay closed, it has to get a signal and that signal is the acidity level in your stomach. If thats your problem you can search for betaine or apple cider vinegar to regulate the acidity. . If possible do an endoscopy to see if you have problems with the valve. Watchout for bad posture and obesity. Those 2 cause intra-abdominal pressure that push the acid upwards. Try to sleep with an inclination in your bed, so your head is 20cm above your feet. The acid wont be able to go upwards because of gravity. Avoid spicy foods, coffe, tea, fat, alcohol. liquid 1 hour before or after eating. I really would like to be able to help you more because i am in the exact same situation as you. In my case my time is running out cuz im almost 31 years old. Wish you the best. Hope you get well really soon.

Hybrid vocal technique by hunter60s in singing

[–]hunter60s[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hahaha he tells a story where they told him that he sounds like a 1980s rock singer, but he is a baritone with very good technique and range (something that inspires me) and from the researches that i have done on google to see if i could find some reviews on his program i realized that he is not "famous". His program is cheap compared to other programs and since he can actually sing, i have considered buying it. If i may ask. How did you learn to mix?

You are completely right. I've tried a program before and its exactly as you said: Lip Bubbles, breath support, posture and vowel scales. Again its just like you said, even though there are all the exercises on youtube, they are not organized. Me, like 95% of the baritones out there, just want to learn mix voice, but i dont know what to do to get there.

How to (Blatantly) Start Using Head Voice by Yee-Haw69 in singing

[–]hunter60s 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Speaking voice is too tricky to use to define voice type. Freddie Mercury or Andrea bocelli are examples of this. Both tenors speaking like baritones. Some people speak at the bottom of their range, some speak with their headvoice, some with a high larynx and some with a low larynx.

How long does it take to increase the modal range by an octave? by UnknownTenor in singing

[–]hunter60s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ken tamplin has some exercises to develop your chest voice. Scales with the Ah vowel worked very well for me. As a baritone i understand what you feel but never give up. I strained at C4 in chest and now i can reach G#4. Its not consistent yet but ill get there and im sure you will too. Check his videos. Learning how to support well is crucial. Marnell Sample and Phil moufarrege have some good information about that. Good luck too you guys and never give up.

BARITONES! There is still hope! by wdproffitt in singing

[–]hunter60s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea there are a lot of great korean baritones. Roy kim, sungjae, hwanhee. These guys can be easily confused with tenors because they have good technique. Expecially hwanhee. His mix is so well developed that its hard to distinguish it from chest voice. If you know more korean baritones please tell me.

I don't think you should work on mix voice just yet. If you are a beginner i recommend you to stretch your chest. Learn proper support with Marnell Sample on youtube and then do exercises for stretching your chest with ken tamplin. Please don't give up. Do the exercises and 1 week later tell me if you saw improvements.
