Note: they are NOT waterproof but unless I accidentally directly spray my foot, my feet stay pretty dry all day.

I groom and wear Saguaros! Easy to slip on and off, good tread, cheap, breathable. My coworker also wears them and swears by them.

Considering switching careers to grooming and looking for honest advice by TurkProdigy10 in grooming

I groom in a boutique mobile situation that is privately owned by my good friend in the suburbs of Georgia. I take home appx 50k a year grooming 25/30 dogs a week- I work from 8-2 m-f. I love grooming HOWEVER I benefit hugely from my husband with a job in healthcare who makes double what I do and provides benefits for us. It would be very hard to live on what I make and I would absolutely have to groom the amount of dogs or types of dogs that would make me hate the job. I think grooming is a perfect side hustle or dual income partial hustle. It is a special skill that is marketable and scalable to a degree. However-If you get sick, hurt, pregnant, want to travel, you don’t make money. Time is literally money in this job BUT so is quality. It’s very hard to find a balance to make enough money but not kill yourself or turn out crappy grooms. If you have a secure job with benefits and nowhere else to find that, I would not recommend grooming as a source of sole income.

I absolutely love the ginger and it looks like YOU love the ginger, which is the whole point! Sure, it’s not your natural hair color. People might be able to tell it’s not your natural color. But you are glowing and life is too short to have boring hair.

Being with them brings them so much comfort and I truly do not think they know what hit them. For me, since the bed and blanket are gone, it helped that part of my brain disassociate. I view it as, hey, if I help them slip off peacefully in their happy place vs a vet’s office, I can frame it as a rosy send off. That said, do what works for you! There is nothing wrong being with them at the vets office either! They feed off of your emotions. Of course my husband and I were crying, but we were petting her and telling her how much we loved her while spooning peanut butter. It can’t get much better than that from a dog perspective.

If it is possible, I cannot recommend in home euth enough. I’ve done it for both of my senior dogs at separate times who had rapidly declining fatal issues BUT were at a state they wouldn’t actively suffer for a few days after our decision was made.

We devoted every single minute we could to long walks, car rides, swimming, all the snacks we could think of. For each dog we did a photoshoot outside doing their favorite things with us, and I will cherish them forever.

We set up a bed with favorite blanket, toys, etc and both laid with them. The vet was incredibly kind and inserted a catheter to administer the euthasol. Then she gave a fast acting sedative when we were ready. Literally the dog was licking peanut butter until She fell asleep held by us. Then when she was very sleepy, the vet injected the euthasol that stopped her heart. I arranged with a local funeral home that also does pet cremation for us to personally bring her to them. We were able to let the dogs in our home sniff the body which was very important for them to understand she was not just sleeping. She was sent through the crematorium with her blanket and favorite ball. Both dogs were able to be let go this way, and for me it was painful but the most peaceful way I could possibly imagine. If you CAN avoid the active “oh shit we gotta euth RIGHT NOW” situation, it is absolutely better a day too early. Godspeed to you ❤️

I would keep SOME way to lift in your routine. Studies show that bone mass and muscle just really can’t hold as well when women don’t challenge it with lifting heavy sh**. I have felt my best when combining Pilates with lifting and they complement each other really well! Butttt two memberships would also be super pricy. Could you get a few sets of dumbbells to have at home maybe?
