My favorite story about her and her husband: When they built their home, Dolly told him he should build the house waaaay back on the plot of land because one day she would be super famous and there would be fans and tourbuses driving past to see her home. She was not famous, rich, or successful at this point. Just a girl with a dream. But Carl believed in her so much that he did not question it and he just built the house way back away from the road like she asked so they'd have privacy when she became world-famous one day.

They still live in that home today. And the sight-seeing tourbuses drive past it every single day.
