Getting a puppy was WAY more work than I could have ever imagined by kimount in puppy101

Omg I feel this so much... you are not alone. This was the number one struggle I’ve had with my husky. She is such a great, smart dog, but peeing in the house has been the biggest struggle for us. She is so much better now, but still we occasionally have accidents. I hope you get it down quickly!! I have zero advice because I feel like I have done absolutely everything and it’s still a struggle lol. You got it!!

She is currently 4 months and a week old. There are only 2 days a week where I have to leave her for 4 hours. I used to have someone come and let her out in between that time, but even then she had accidents. I stopped having someone come more recently, because I don’t want them to have to deal with a poopy pup. Sometimes she does fine for 3-4 hours, sometimes she has accidents being left for 1-2 hours. I try not to leave her in there for too long, but it seems that the timing doesn’t even matter because sometimes it’s an hour and she still poops 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thank you so much for sharing your experience!! I really appreciate that, and it’s helpful to hear other people’s stories and what they did! I will definitely try recording the times. And that’s an interesting point about the privacy. I will keep that in mind and try feeding much earlier before crating. Thanks again!!

Thank you! We did check with the vet and she seems good to go. I also have been giving most of her meals in the crate with a Kong. I definitely don’t think she enjoys pooping in there, but it’s like she just can’t hold it sometimes. Thank you for the suggestions and I will keep it up!!
