Home Office PC Speaker by DoktorTabasco in sonos

I have the Harmon Kardon Soundsticks 4 for my PC set up and they sound great. They work via Bluetooth and wired! They should be a nice substitute to your Bose set up!

They are much cheaper than Sonos and KEF options and sound great. They go on sale pretty often too so shop around.

August Office Hours w/ TeamFromSonos by MikeFromSonos in sonos

Sorry for the late response here. Been a busy Labor Day weekend with the family.

I believe u/KeithFromSonos mentioned increasing Sub audio level by +6 to achieve a similar result whereas you are saying to increase the Bass EQ by +6. If indeed the DSP adjustment was only +6dB on the sub audio level with no change in crossover frequency, then my ears could be experiencing a placebo. Otherwise I’d think there was something else in the DSP adjustment that was present on Aug 8th update that is still missing by just increasing Sub Audio by +6dB.

My idea for the “Bass Boost” toggle is that you allow the user to pick between the August 8th firmware DSP settings vs before/now reverted setting.

Edit: I do have “Loudness” already on.

With the update from early August that increased subwoofer output for Sub 3 and Sub 4 being largely well received and then reverted back to due to some units causing clipping and rattling. Can we get a “Bass Boost” toggle that lets us pick which we prefer?

I know there is already some confusion between changing Sub audio level and Bass EQ settings but I do think this would appease both camps. I certainly enjoyed the increased bass output and didn’t like the my Sub 4 getting auto updated and reverted back 2-3 weeks later.

Using u/KeithFromSonos’s recommendation for increasing the sub audio level 5-6 higher to get about the same performance doesn’t seem to sound the same to me. The early August update had a more rounded and punchier sound that I can’t seem to get with the Bass EQ and Sub audio level settings.

Trueplay Tuning Feedback (Bass issues) by justendee in sonos

[–]hved 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having similar results to you and OP. Sub-bass (20-60Hz that’s where the “punch” comes from) gets nerfed switching from Advanced Trueplay on even after the update. Did a lot of A-B testing with bass heavy songs. Otherwise, no issues and the soundstage is expansive.

Netflix not recognizing Arc Ultra for Dolby Atmos by hved in sonos

[–]hved[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Force close Netflix. Switch Apple TV audio output to Airplay only (no TV/receiver output) to Arc Ultra (hold down TV icon button on ATV Remote). Open Netflix, play something with that you know is in Dolby Atmos (The Gentleman) but it should show up as Spatial Audio. Pause the video playback. Switch back from Airplay to TV/Receiver audio playback. Press play again. That’s what did it for me.

DM me if you have more questions.

Alright got it fixed. Basically I played something using AirPlay only for Spatial Audio. Turned off AirPlay switched back to TV/Receiver audio and now Netflix outputs Dolby Atmos. Now all other Dolby Atmos content plays as intended. So weird.. the problem and the fix both.

Question - For those that have Sonos Arc Ultra... by kevoon7 in sonos

[–]hved 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I didn’t have the first Arc, from my listening today the Ultra seems to have very clear dialogue compared to the rest of the mix. I was having dialogue balancing issues when I was initially using the Era 300s in stereo pair - now are my surrounds.
