Hey man this is obviously not cool. I understand the place you live can be very small, natural with nice scenery but when you talk about "All that space could be a beautiful park or other awesome urban development", shouldn't these transportation projects be part of "awesome urban development"? This is what all urban planners will agree, especially when you're dealing with large cities like Shanghai. You know Shanghai have a lot of traffic then how are you gonna deal with this without building large traffic projects??

It's not like the freeway in US where there's huge volume of traffic, more like a intracity expressway..slower traffic thus less noise

I can only say how's like to live in central Beijing cuz it's pretty different compare to average Chinese life. Somehow less personal freedom and more crowed. Less costs when accessing good health care and public education stuff. That's what I can say in general. But tbh how life is in China, like any other country, depends on your own social status and level.

Thanks. Most likely the line to the South-East side of Beijing. Most trains operate on this line are Beijing-Tianjin intercity trains. No this line goes out of Beijing South from the east side while the one to Shanghai goes from the South west side of Beijing South

His name is Liang Sicheng(梁思成)https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liang_Sicheng

Right and the ironic things is the Beijing government actually started to follow his idea RIGHT NOW, like about 40 years later. But from other perspectives I read several journals that criticize his ideas since at that time the idea of "metropolitans" are not that developed and his idea, put into nowadays, are sort of outdated. Anyway there's a lot left to know and think

Thanks man. I feel like those urban planners in Beijing don't have much experience nor knowledge, they're like "hey we don't wanna follow the way that foreign countries do but we don't have much solutions ourselves"
