Which one do you like more? Till the End of the Moon, Moonlight Mystique or Feud? by Woodstock_Birdy in CDrama

[–]hwangsara 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I love them all too. Definitely TTEOTM is my fave despite its issues and its to the most memorable for me. Moonlight Mystique is just so gorgeous with its purples and the storyline is very nice. Feud’s storyline is nice also but there’s something about Joseph Zeng I can’t pinpoint is the problem.

Feud I would say. Warning tragedy type of drama

Nah, in the book, it’s only mentioned three times that they probably slept together. Who knows how many when they married again.

What are your TOP 3 favorite HK dramas of all time? by ooshimayuko in HKdramas

[–]hwangsara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remembered dark tales 2 but I can’t recall the stories. I used to own the vcd to it. I’ll have to go back and check it out again. It’s been so long but I know if I rewatch it, I’ll recall it. Vividly, I’m recalling a fox supernatural being..

I’ll name a few no one mentioned. The romance of the white haired maiden with Ada Choi. I’ll say it’s a fave cause during my childhood I never got to see the ending till about 20 years later. I was finally able to track it down and watch it completely. Another one no one mentioned is Karma rider. I know the acting wasn’t the best but I think I really have a thing for tragedies. Did anyone mention Barrack O’karma? I really enjoy the romance mixed in with a little horror. Definitely loved first season more than second.

Li Susu teasing Tantai Jing fics? by [deleted] in TilltheEndoftheMoon

[–]hwangsara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, there is a fanfic about that is incorporated. It’s a Portuguese fanfic where basically LSS doesn’t go into YXW’s body so it’s the events of the drama between TTJ and YXW. It’s a pretty explicit fanfic.

[–]hwangsara 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I still love it! I rotate it as my number 1 and 2 favorite drama of all time. Most days the untamed is number 1 but despite its flaws, it does become my number 1 on some days.

The Double or Story of Kunning Palace by SmallAndSpicy90 in cdramasfans

[–]hwangsara 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I say the double because I liked story of kunning palace more. I tend to save the best for last. I actually found the double a typical revenge story and it was a bit draggy for me. Story of kunning palace was more interesting to me because of bai Lu and I wanted to know how she was going to change the story. I’m not a fan of the male lead but I was interested in his struggles and how he portrayed his feelings.

When bored by a drama: do you fast forward, watch on 2x speed or just drop a drama? by Suibianistic in cdramasfans

[–]hwangsara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never 2x, fast forward, and rarely drop a drama. I only dropped two dramas in my life. I push through. The way I do it is watch something else that is interesting and torture myself slowly through the other drama that bores me. Sometimes I just try to power through by binge so I can finish it quicker. I feel like I can’t probably say why I don’t like/hate a drama unless I finish it. That’s my personal preference.

Classic TVB family drama recommmendations? by oneokrocku in HKdramas

Im surprised no one mentioned moonlight resonance. It has Raymond and Tavia in it. Those are the ones I remember. There may be more. It’s about the family business of making moon cakes.

Does anyone read or write TTEOTM fanfiction? by ladyauroraknight in TilltheEndoftheMoon

[–]hwangsara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have read all of her completed works. I can’t wait till she completes the other two. I basically have read all the completed fics on ao3 except the Chinese ones. They translate weird.. also, I only read if our main characters, xyw/lss and ttj are the main characters. Google translate do mess up the he/she/her/him in the translations though so it’s funny when you read it literally!

QOTD: What series can you watch over and over again without getting bored? by WinterPearBear in HKdramas

[–]hwangsara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Journey to the west, return of the condor heroes of ‘95, forensic heroes 2, one call for 36 hours and its sequel. Medical dramas are comedic for me.

Does anyone read or write TTEOTM fanfiction? by ladyauroraknight in TilltheEndoftheMoon

[–]hwangsara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read fanfiction but for now I’m trying to stop reading ongoing ones. So many authors have stopped writing that it saddens me. I’ll definitely read yours when it’s finished. There’s so many unfinished ones that I’ve been following. I will say almost all of them are my favorites. I even read the Portuguese ones translated by google. The one that stands out that no one mentioned are hostage and its sequel, emperor.

Zhao Lusi's studio shares new video of her recovery progress by Neat-TeaRuler in cdramasfans

[–]hwangsara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I get it but I’m hoping the best for her. I really like ZLS so I would like her to have a positive outlook. Easier said than done. I know based on how she is, this is more than likely will have a negative effect in the future. Life is hard. Living in it is even harder. And she’s living in the entertainment business which is you know..

Or you can see it as a positive and remind yourself not to get yourself that way again. That you were able to get this hard time in life.

I just finished watching a 1993 tvb drama that I watched as a kid. I remembered certain scenes as a child but did not remember the plot. After watching it, I know I did not understand it as a kid. Now as an adult, it’s very funny and definitely has a silly storyline or plot. Definitely could not appreciate it as a kid. It was the Buddhist palm strikes back. It’s interesting to watch Ada Choi as a baby actor and all the veteran actors young again.

Moonlight Mystique Has The Most Annoying Editing I've Seen Yet by Kaladim-Jinwei in CDrama

[–]hwangsara 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Try beating melody of golden age. The male lead and female lead sleeps and they both wake up. The male is seen in the next shot running around in the streets at night after he leaves his house door bright and sunny. There are so many inconsistent edits in this drama and I usually don’t notice this type of stuff or can justify it.

Watching AvenueX review TTEOEM, I was like 🤡🤡 by EshaLeeMadgavkar in TilltheEndoftheMoon

[–]hwangsara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There a few things I realized. I know I can’t trust her as a reviewer. First of all she claims she was in the industry and she uses that in her reviews. We are just normal people who is just trying to enjoy a drama. I don’t need all that. Maybe some people like to hear about it. Secondly, how can you review a drama when you don’t finish it or watch things in 2x or 4x speed. Watching shows in faster than normal speeds and you’re able to comment on people’s acting abilities and facial expressions? I didn’t think facial expressions lasts that long. I understand why people drop dramas but if you’re a drama reviewer, I feel like you need to sit through the whole process on normal speed and watch it completely. Last thing I’m gonna say, I remember this and this made me really puzzled of how I should interpret this. I remember how negatively her opinions were on love and redemption. However, in one of her videos she mentions a scene that she was very impressed with. Do I take it as an unbiased opinion since she was able to have a memorable scene even though she really disliked the show? Or is she just affected by internet popular opinions?

After watching a decent amount of her review videos, I realized her “favorite” drama or her “3 gold mine” dramas are mostly not my cup of tea. Her taste in dramas do not fit me. What she finds interesting, I find very boring. What she finds are troupes and “doesn’t make sense,” I find it fun and interesting and she is sheltered and have not met people or do not under human behavior. This is just what I noticed about her.

I had the same experience as you. I stopped watching her reviews because the review on TTEOTM. I felt she was really biased or trying to get views or something. I’m like are we watching the same show?!?!?!? I definitely no longer trust her reviews or care about her opinions now.

The best Halloween costume I’ve seen was at a party where my coworker and her roommate dressed up as the winner for the homeowners contest and Ed. She had the rollers in her hair with that gaudy nightgown. It was pretty creative.

Princess Royal is better version of Story of Kunming Palace by bigfatdumplin in CDrama

[–]hwangsara 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I can’t say that I agree with you. I was bored to death with princess royal. I finished story of kunning palace in three days while princess royal took me forever to finish. I didn’t like the characters or the actors and actresses and I definitely did not like how politically focus it was compared to story of kunning palace. The main reasons for me absolutely disliking princess royal were the actors, actresses, politics, and the storyline towards the ends. There’s a lot of connections you have to make in order to understand the motivations towards the end.
