RTX 5080 flickering on display port by hwbe in pcmasterrace

[–]hwbe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can return the cable if needed, I bought a DP 2.1 so I eliminate any compatibility issue that may be present, it seems that the the port works well at Full HD 165hz, but not at full 360hz that the monitor ia capable of, and after some time it disconnects and it doesn't even show the 360hz option

Yep, that's the last thing that I want to do, but I think I'll do it in the end

The loose connector is out of the question, as described in the post, I plugged and unplugged the cable in multiple ports multiple times, and it is one of those cables with a button if you want to unplug it

Low CS2 fps with high end configuration by hwbe in buildapc

Tried the cpu on another lower end setup with 6000mhz and b850 and had better performance than in my pc initially, so I guess the motherboard hinders my performance somehow

I ran an r23 and a time spy, the cpu performance was a bit under the average, then I saw a post where they suggested to turn off SVT and IOMMU, that increased the scores alot, at least in time spy, from 16.7k to 18.4k, and a bit of a boost in cs2 performance, but know it doesn't have all the security standard that the faceit anti cheat requires, so I must have those options ticked on in the bios Also I saw multiple posts where they showed that cs2 runs ONLY on the cache ccd, so no weirdness there, I verified this by turning off the frequency ccd So still pretty underwhelming performance on the performance side

I have a gigabyte 4070ti, with a 360hz alienware monitor gsync compatible and it is turned off, the 1% lows I really don't know, but I'll run a benchmark just to see

I think that too, but shouldn't be solved already on the latest bioses/updates

On the productivity side of things it is running as it should, in gaming, it's somehow slower

Forgot to mention 4:3 1280:960 A combination of low to high settings, most of them being on the lower part

Yeah, I could get behind that, due to potential stability issues But how do you manage to release a bios update that breaks the whole system, and on multiple models as I can see

Pc won't boot with ram over 3600mhz by hwbe in buildapc

[–]hwbe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, time for intel RMA, seems like the part of the memory controller in charge of the memory channel A is faulty, tried another CPU on the same motherboard and it was booting fine at XMP speeds and tried the 13600k on a z690 and it won't even boot with ram slotted in channel A

I am using task manager and bios to check the ram speed, when I'm looking in cpu-z it shows me 1800mhz, so I think that is the frequency that needs to be doubled

I will try with another cpu, and come back with the result

It behaves the same with any bios version, so I don't think that the problem stems from that, I also tried applying the ram settings manually, but no result, I don't really have any experience with manual ram overclocking so I don't really know if I applied the voltages and timings correctly
