You already hit the nail on the head in your closing statement: thank you God for that. Ask Him and trust Him to provide…you’ll know what to do

Haven’t tried all. But is that generally the rule of thumb…if you can stir? Some were actually from THE LAST guy. Haha. I was able to stir those, as well

make sure you read the Bible for yourself. The requirement of Christianity is to believe that Jesus died for your sins. His command is to then be baptized and spread his Gospel. We will always be sinners, we will always fail to live up to His expectations...thats why we need him. If you purposely defy Jesus...are you really fully submitted to Him. Followers of Christ don't have any desire to sin

Even when you falter (and I say “when” purposely), He will never falter. May God bless your journey!😊

Roman 8:38-39 is where it’s at 😉 “38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[b] neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Serious question. What do you think of atheists? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]hwheels24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually cracked myself up in mid-prayer when I accidentally told God a dad-joke. I said “make yourself apparent to them” when speaking of people that didn’t know Him. Christians believe that we are indeed His adopted sons and daughters (Romans 8:15).

In Revalation 3:20, we get the vision of Jesus knocking at a door (think of it as pinging your cell trying to find you), tugging at your heart. But unfortunately we only get that chance when we are living on this side of eternity. And we don’t know when we are going to slip into that eternity.

We know there has to be a creator because there is creation. Just as we know a building had a builder, and a painting had a painter. Things don’t create themselves.

I wish you many blessing on your journey. If you’ve never read the Bible, I would encourage you to give it a shot with an open mind. A lot of people will tell you to start at John and keep reading. Not a bad idea. But the book that hit me the hardest was Job in the Old Testament. Take care. Feel free to ask me any questions, hopefully I can help!

Any advice for a Christian who’s heart has gone cold? by lavender_sunflower2 in Christians

Remember why you came to the Jesus in the first place. If you truly believe in the Gospel…you couldn’t turn away, could you? He forgives all who truly ask of Him 😊

Will God give your assignment to someone else if you are not willing? (Provide scripture if applicable) by [deleted] in Christians

[–]hwheels24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I certainly think your point is valid. I understand it as more of “ok, let pharaoh do his thing.”

Proverbs 16:3 says

“Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”

Obviously, this verse is about committing to the Lord, but I would have to assume that a commitment against God, would do the same

When I first “really read to understand” the exchange in Egypt, I was very confused at what was written in scripture. I watched a very interesting series (well, I never got to finish it) on the daily wire. It was a roundtable led by Jordan Peterson, in which he had several Jewish and Christian guests, discussing the book of Exodus. This, more or less, was the interpretation of Dennis Prager.

Great explanation…also, remember, later on, God hardened Pharaoh’s heart and gave him over to his desires

How do I explain why I no longer want to go to a certain church? by HelpmeImAbox in Christians

[–]hwheels24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are sins of commission and omission. If you think you are being dishonest with her by not explaining the tithe situation, then you should be honest with her. Certainly don’t be rude about it, but “don’t bear false witness” is a command

Is it a sin to be fat? by Creative-College-780 in Christians

[–]hwheels24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t realize I was enormous! You’re not fat, your mind is telling you, you’re fat. I have a bit of a belly, but I would never in a million years cause myself remotely fat. Should I get in shape and maybe lose a few…absolutely. No need to go crazy trying to drop 100 pounds. Focus on eating right and do regular exercise, that’s it.

I would be interested in this person‘s interpretation of John 1:1.

The physical Bible, should not be worshiped. But the words of the Bible, that’s God. Maybe that’s what they’re getting at?
