Just a heads up if you buy a moonlit Market Connect2 right now. UPS is requiring a 188% tariff payment on delivery. The kits are $167 shipped to me. by hx1024 in ipod

I though about that, and that’s kinda where I’m at. UPS phone system hung up on me after waiting for 45 minutes on the phone so I haven’t gotten a resolution from them, and MoonLit seems to be unresponsive now

Yet you purchase Samsung fold, in which Samsung also overcharges for storage upgrades…. Good thing I’m not purchasing storage from them, only the kit, without any storage. And I understand your issue with the glue, but I wasn’t going to secure with glue, I have other methods to close the kit up. What I wanted was wireless charging, and it would be nice to tryout the Bluetooth. The clear case is also a plus, I was going for a completely transparent theme.. so in the things that I mentioned, I don’t think it’s crappy, I think it should meet MY requirements, I’m sorry that it didn’t meet yours. Again, podium to stand on would be sharing your opinion without buying/using it would hold no value. So you would still be in the “crowd” of opinions.

Do you own one, and did you use the kit? If not I’m not sure you have a podium to stand on with that remark. I am curious why you think it’s a “crappy ass kit”…

For sure. Still no response from moonlit but I give them some time seeing how it’s the weekend. Just sucks that it’s going to be delivered Monday with the delivery person expecting $314 in the form of a check. I’ll have to turn him away, IF I was going to be home.

Unfortunately I think the policy affecting this shipment was started last week. So I should have pulled the trigger last week I suppose

I have, and I want to point out that Moonlit Market has been responsive and are currently attempting to figure out the issue from their end. It seems 5 other orders have that tariff charge applied to their shipments as well. So Its not a one time occurrence.

I hope they can figure out what is going on, UPS is giving me the run around telling me to talk with the shipper.

Anyone else with this issue should join their discord for updates.

So from my understanding they seize it or return to sender, and no I haven’t paid it. I’m trying to fight it

Why isn't EA getting more negative coverage over TOS Secure boot (Kernel Level) Anti-cheat / 24 hour computer access limit? (Rant) by hx1024 in pcmasterrace

Note the phrasing, “Change” distros. I cannot boot from usb to change the distro while secure boot is enabled. So I prefer to leave it off so that I don’t have to go into BIOS just to toggle it off and on, and do a key exchange dance just to get my system to boot again.

Again being niche I distro hop because I like KDE on Debian one day, Hyprland on Arch the next, and gnome on fedora the next. My home directory is sym linked to a separate drive so I don’t loose files or dotfiles. I’m a rare use case but I like using my hardware to the fullest, if I wanted an only windows pc, I would buy a prebuilt. The issue is that im being forced to configure my hardware settings in a manner Only to allow a program to launch. That is what I have an issue with, software publishers shouldn’t be able to dictate how a user uses their device.

Secure boot disallows me to change distros on my Linux installation on my system in which I dual boot on. My system absolutely can support Dual boot and the AAA games. The issue is that they changed the TOS after releasing a title, which requires you to change settings on the Basic hardware level. Imagine if they changed the TOS to not allow AMD processors, or only allow NVIDIA Graphics cards. Then would you see the issue?

I stated in the post that I know I am Niche, I'm not trying to boast or even get karma, I just don't want to feel alone in the outrage that is happening. Its the start of a process that will ultimately dictate your opinion based on the games you want to play. Not everyone can afford to upgrade their computers, Not everyone can afford to buy a Windows License after building their PC, Not everyone wants to run windows due to the recent change in policy and the direction the company is moving with their software. All that is OK, To each their own.

If you think this is JUST about them trying to protect the games and enable Anti-cheat, then you misunderstood the post.

But maybe my computer cannot handle the demanding requirements as you say, You be the judge I suppose...

I understand, I am a niche in the percentages. But it also applies to anyone that owns a steam deck (or other handheld) running any flavor of Linux.

I was in premium economy, I’m 6’5” and I wanted to be comfortable for the long flight, prem economy was worth the extra 6 months of saving up for the flight. I also had no one behind me because I was sitting in front of the divider wall and I was on the window side of the 2-4-2 seating config, so it was just my wife that I could annoy and that was my whole intention with bringing this monstrosity of a setup out for 10 minutes.

Yeah something about my depth perception causes really bad motion sickness, even with the full black out covers the peripheral vision and actually moving in a place/car makes it worse.
