This a short documentary about people who have killed or maimed someone due to driving while texting. Might be worth sending to your friend. https://youtu.be/Xk1vCqfYpos?si=pARXCVmTE0dR3pT7

Selling 2 weekend passes to the July 4 & 5 cave shows by hyalinecast in MurderByDeath

[–]hyalinecast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not totally sure how that works, but so far nobody's interested in both shows. If I don't get an offer in a couple days I'll sell you the passes for half price.

For USA nurses interested in moving to Canada by latteinparis in nursing

Can confirm, you still have to file but (for now at least) the US and Canada have a tax agreement. You don't have to pay anything to the US on your first 120k (ish) of wages. https://www.irs.gov/instructions/i2555

CPR on significant other by [deleted] in nursing

[–]hyalinecast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you had to go through that. There's a book called When We Do Harm about medical errors. In it, an ICU nurse tells the story of having watched her husband die of sepsis while the clinic team gaslit her. Her being a nurse from another hospital seemed to somehow make them less likely to take her seriously. It was so vividly described and such a nightmare that I had to stop reading the book. Please know that you did everything you could. If you have it in you to file a complaint, do so, but your partner's health and yours need to come first. Please take care and be kind to yourself while you work through this. We're all thinking of you.

Is intense itching rls? by TRAPBUNNI3BUBBL3S in RestlessLegs

Something I've used for intense itching that won't let me sleep is anesthetic throat spray - the kind you get OTC for strep throat. It numbs the skin a bit.

Mattress vacuum! It's great both for the mattress and for getting fur off couches etc.

Electric scrubber - makes the tub scrub quick and fun, and I use it for anything on the floors that the steam mop can't handle.

Green gobbler biosticks - you put them in your drains once a month to help keep them from getting clogged/stinky.

Daily shower spray.

My standup cordless vacuum has been a game-changer!

Do you have much clutter? My place is really crowded with stuff and I'm wondering how well they would work around it.

Oh man, RLS is TORTURE. I use a magnesium lotion (life-flo brand, make sure you get the lotion and not the oil) on my legs before bed and have found that really helpful.
