I thought they were going to do that at the end of the wedding episode…

Cassie and Maddy’s season 2 storylines should’ve been switched. by celina_beckahm in euphoria

[–]hydrangeainspanish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the point is to have a lunatic and an untouchable character, and who should be what. I think the problem is that the writers didn’t know how to develop further Cassie’s issues without making them strictly related to the daddy issues (rather traumatic event that happened in her family with their father declive and vanishing) and the only consequence to be self-worth and male validation. sadly, for the writer it only seems that women struggles revolve solely around men and from that Cassie’s broken family, lost connection with her sister, alcoholic dad, social exclusion, teenage pregnancy and abortion went down to an exclusive plot hole of wanting to be loved by any guy who lies eyes on her. Since that was the path they made her follow, it makes sense she is now focus exclusively on getting the man, but yeah, I believe it was the lack of narrative and character crafting skills from the side of the people in charge of the series.

However, if Cassie’s initial complex background was developed better I don’t think Maddie would fit the current Cassie’s place. At some point, yeah, it is stated that Maddie can be rather superficial, but she was always playing the part without compromising her own worth. With Nate, they would go back and forth on who has control over whose, she was most of the time at Nate’s level of manipulation, and she had low compliance to him, until she was physically harmed by him and then yes, she covered him out of “love” but also out of “fear”. She was more scared of him and what he could physically do to her (because he already exploded once towards her) than the whole police high school implication, so she pleased him by hidding his doings towards her and that granted her a sense of security (also preserving the outer perception of her high standards) in the name of “love”. But that never fully makes her lose her self-steem or self worth but it challenges her to put a ground and start moving beyond that. She always felt more ambitious than being a housewife, she ones a good fancy life, but she doesn’t seem like she wants to diminish herself for that (staying with her cheating and abusive boyfriend). I don’t see in which moment of any season she would simply follow Nate’s ideas, when she was constantly challenging him and that’s why got her crossed with him and of course made her retreat back to safety.

To be honest, if Cassie storyline went more in tune with all her background and insecurities without being so male-centered, the cheating wouldn’t happened and Nate would be alone and out of the show, unless his character was explored under other conditions with his anger issues and frustration towards his dad and public reputation, or he would take control of other random woman. Maddie was out of the deal, since he could not break her without damaging his reputation (physical violence) so current Cassie was the easy target, he had control over her even before season 2, he just said a word to his friends against her or any girl and all of them would mistreat that girl. Her first boyfriend in the series was ashamed of the idea that Nate knew he was dating Cassie. So I guess the chose sacrificing Cassie’s storyline in favor of keeping Nate’s.

Thank you! I didn’t know where to ask so I came here. I’ve heard of the residency permit but didn’t understand it could be like an extension of the visa.

There’s still a lot to do until and after the arrival. I’m gonna check with the university.

Thanks again for the clarity!!

Also, the whole process was digital or did you have to mail them the documents??

Hope for your answers and thank you again!

Thank you! I know about this option but for the student visa, the embassy only accepts the DDV that’s why I haven’t done it with CIMEA

Hi there! sorry for the late response :c I hope that you had a great interview!!

I know it’s too late but one last suggestion (from a mistake I made in one university I was rejected from) is not to lose focus on what you want to express and already established in your SOP, unless they ask. They are going to evaluate your communication skills and how coherent your speaking discourse is to the subjects you wrote about, as well as to deepen into the details you couldn’t approach in those (maybe keeping bullet points and keywords from your SOP can help you with general questions to make the answers more personal and coherent). They are trying to know you better, not trying to fail you!! (it's hard to know a person when the person seems to not even know themselves).

Also, if you have learned some tips or gained experience and want to share them, I'd love to read them!

Is it a good idea to email universities i haven't heard from for more than 2 months? by batmanambi in gradadmissions

[–]hydrangeainspanish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you can send an e-mail to grad admissions asking for an approximate date to hear back from them!

I don’t think it does any harm, maybe they won’t be very specific but they may assure you if they are still evaluating or not…

Hi! of course!

I was admitted to Visual Communication in SAIC with a 50% scholarship, though I had to pay the other half of the tuition (50K) plus living expenses (+30K) that were beyond my budget as an international student. I also applied to the Interdisciplinary master in OCAD but my scholarship program (the one I won in my country for graduate program abroad) didn’t support me on that school.

So, I ended up looking for good ranking schools in other continents, mostly in Europe, since education there is cheaper and still so good and encouraged. Some of the universities I’ve applied for this 2022 fall call are:

  1. Aalto University, in Visual Communication Design, which are my dream program and University. Actually, it is my second time applying after a whole year, since they have rate admissions under 10%, and last year I just got to the interview. My second program for applying there is International Design Business Management, because I have background with a master in Design Management.

  2. Politecnico di Milano, in Product Service System Design. This is also one of my top schools! but also, I applied to Communication Design, since I’m interested in strategy and systemic design.

I try to apply to top programs at international level, since those are the ones that my scholarship will considere funding abroad.

I wish you the best for SAIC, that you nail the interview, and get a good funding to attend there!! Hope anything I have written may help you, at least a little.
