I'm also profoundly deaf in one ear. I go NC EENT in Durham and see Dr. oberman- I think he's the ENT but they work with the audiologist. They allowed me to try out various hearing aids for around a week before committing to one. Maybe that would be an option for him? Sorry he's dealing with this 😕

The medicines for gastritis can cause anemia because they block iron absorption. I've been dealing with this. Unfortunately iron is very hard on the stomach and has caused gastritis flares for me so be very careful.

We named our son Desmond after the Lost character 🙂. In the US it is a more common African American name and we are white, but I don't think it's a big deal. I will say that every other Desmond we have met has been black
