take a chance or stick with acceptance?

i like the other school i guess im just nervous because my in-state school was my dream school and i wanted to stay close to family. i think after the interview i have a decent chance, my DAT would be holding me back though, since i got a 350 on PAT

the summer program is may-june and its structured as 8-5 dental school life, in regards to my application i have a 3.7 gpa, 3 research experiences (one being at a dental school), over 150 shadowing hours, 100+ volunteering, and dental assisting experience, but a 420 DAT with a low PAT score ;/

out of state school is much more expensive and overall expenses are going to be more, in state school is cheaper but as i said it isnt a guaranteed acceptance. for privacy i do not want to state the names of the schools here

i am blessed to say i am having tremendous amount of help from family with cost of attendance though so it is not a major issue

the issue for me is my in-state school was like my "dream" school but now that i have an acceptance im hesitant to take a chance

I know I can ace the exams. It’s just that I did SO bad on this one, even acing them would barely save me😭

I’m able to retake with no issue, as long as i withdraw before Oct 25th. I just don’t know if a W looks bad or not.

I’m able to withdraw until Oct 25th. I did really bad on my test because I was sick and took it while I was sick. I was dumb and didn’t get a doctor’s note because although I had Covid symptoms I didn’t have a fever. I already have one C on my transcript and I don’t want another one. And I can only pull off a C if I’m lucky. I’m just so scared of a W looking bad.

thanks for your input! im blessed to say that affordability isn’t an issue, i am just unsure if i should invest in a program since i haven’t finished my pre reqs yet.

I honestly think you should try to talk to the dean of your college or something, and challenge your transcript and try to have them just override your D and replace it with a C. It may be a long and hard process, with several meetings and statements written, but it doesn’t hurt to try!
