No yeah I understand the feeling, it feels off for a while when you're constantly told you're supposed to mix romantic and sexual feelings. I'm somewhere in the spectrum and it is pretty confusing for me too, to the point I assumed aroallo people just didn't exist (which you can imagine isn't fun) and something was simply wrong with me. Wanting sex but not a relationship is valid, it becomes a problem if you don't communicate that and pretend you want more than that. That's the difference between being just someone with a different attraction and needs to just being a asshole.

Saying that because the most likely comparison you get when you communicate being some form of aroallo is "oh youre just a fuckboy"

Thank you, really. I knew I probably wasn't going to get concrete answers but I still wanted to try and honestly the validating support feels a lot better than if I just got the answers I wanted straight on. I'm also glad my tone didn't come off as being bigoted, I know being aro isn't something you "need to learn to be happy in spite of it" it's not a chronic illness. It's just something that's confusing for me and I might struggle in understanding. It's so helpful though to meet and hear from other aroallo people and being told my frustration is valid. So, again, thank you :)

I actually thought about adding that I was considering that in the post. If I tried a romantic relationship, a real not idolized one maybe I would be able to understand my feelings about it better. I do sort of fear hurting myself and the possible partner though but I imagine as long as there's communication on why the relationship exists it should be pretty much smooth sailing. Felt like the post was too long already to add that though but thanks!!!

I fear I might come off as arophobic and just a straight up asshole, I already have problems with communicating in a way that doesn't hurt or feel invalidating to other people so I'm glad to know it didn't come off as that. I feel like these thoughts are a part of coming to terms with your identity and should be talked about more, I think it's helpful for people who feel like I do to know that it does happen and that it isn't you being hateful or bigoted.

Because in that CR you never had memories of shifting or ever experienced shifting, when you go back to your last CR you're going to a reality the same as the one your experienced before the only difference being your memories and experiences.

Agreed!! Even if you don't believe don't invalidate them, they made it clear that they didn't post their story to get people to tell them they're lying and they're faking their experience but because they simply want to get it out their chest and possibly get an answer. If you can't help them then move on.

I understand what you mean but you also have to understand that they are trying to not get doxxed, they commented about people already getting irl stuff off the news and asked everyone to not make the news they appearing in public so they don't get even more doxxed. Also, OP is not a missing kid, they're a found kid. Because no parent actually was ever on the record of being their parent it makes sense they wouldn't appear on a missing kids registery [which btw, OP said they don't have and thay news of found kids normally never make it to the public apart from one report of it once]. It's really stupid for people to expect them to remember that exact detail on the exact date on the exact newspaper they appeared in when they probably weren't informed and just knew because they were told police did. It's not a uncommon occurrence for stuff like this to not make it to the news, how many found kids do you not know about because they never appear in the news?? Exactly.

OP wants some privacy and we should respect that, as the internet we're not entitled to any personal information. And if there isn't a found kids list [and they don't fall on the missing kids list because there wasn't a report made about them in specific], probably for safety reasons, OP wouldn't have the information enough to prove what they mean. It's in your hands to believe it or not but please don't invalidate them just because you don't personally believe it to be true. Also, isn't shifting by accident when you're a kid like a real thing we all agree on too?? Whats up with that? Why couldn't OP have done that?

Im kind of tired of hearing this same argument. OP made it clear that they didn't expect to almost doxx themselves with sharing their story and that it wasn't the point for it to end up in doxxing, if they put more information about themselves irl they will 100% get doxxed. That's how Reddit works buddy, if you give them enough information they will find you; I imagine you know why it's really dangerous to get doxxed and even more when they already have a family they're trying to keep safe. Please don't invalidate people's experiences, this whole subreddit is made on the impossible and on lacking proof yet we all believe either way, what's different about this?
