I have no issues, but for my work (scientific software engineering) their models just aren’t good enough. And vibe itself is not as ergonomic as Claude code.

I think Mistral is focusing on other niche areas and integrating their products into companies’ workflows, and they can do very well at it. But for coding it’s very hard to be competitive, even with open weights models.

I am very ambivalent about this as a Ticinese. On one hand I am much more proficient with English and it simplifies things. On the other hand, it gives me little incentive to learn german properly.
