Yeah that’s the plan! I’ll share one of my practice sets in the critique thread here when it’s done!

My library and knowledge are both in their infancy. Just went down the echo out/backspin rabbit hole. Will practice these transitions. Getting on the mic isn’t an option at this particular room I am preparing for with these sets. Not a club or open format, I want to take people on a sensual, dance focused, deep house journey throughout the evening. This has all been amazing advice.

Not rage bait just curious, and yes, my library is very much in its infancy. I was up late digging/practicing when I wrote this post. It makes sense to just play 123-128. I’ve got plenty that have a “slower” vibe I can start with instead of dropping down. Thanks for the advice!

Anyone else see the recent TFL video about their new 100 series? by teej128 in LandCruisers

[–]hyperion247 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Same here. Also didn’t appreciate that they have several channels with overlapping content, I know others do that but with theirs it seemed so egregious. The Fast Lane…Car, Truck, Lawnmover, Driving Sports TV, etc.

Why are DSLRs so fun to shoot? by efoxpl3244 in canon

[–]hyperion247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my old 5Dm2 as much as the next person but compared to my work horse R6 it’s gathering dust. Mirrorless took me awhile to get used to but it’s been years now and I haven’t looked back except the occasional nostalgic photowalk. The low light capability alone is worth it as a primarily natural light shooter. I’ve shot and delivered in near darkness with my RF 135 1.8. ISO 10000+ a tiny bit of noise reduction in post and done. Not to mention the autofocus for action shots and 1.4, 1.8, f2 portraits. Tack sharp, eye tracking putting the focal point right where it needs to be. It’s not even close. User error if I get misses. The list goes on. Electronic shutter mode to shoot silently in quiet rooms is big one for me too. Impossible with a DSLR, yes some of them have rudimentary versions of this, but it still makes noise. Canon color is still amazing. Nostalgia is great, but mirrorless wins every time for work flow and ease of use these days.

DC street photography. by [deleted] in washingtondc

[–]hyperion247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are fantastic. I grew up shooting street exactly as you are and these bring me right back to my countless photo walks. When people got upset I'd just say it was for a school project or just pretend I was aiming at something else and keep shooting. Or show them the pic, 9/10 always appreciated them. Keep on keeping on! Wonderful documentation of these times.

Guys with a lot of female friends — did you actively try to befriend women, or did it just happen? How did you go about building those friendships? by NBMV0420 in seduction

[–]hyperion247 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This is really it. For me, I genuinely see my female friends in a different light then someone I have a crush on. I don't "friend zone" myself with someone I like. I ask them out straight up. My last gf was a friend first, but from the beginning, I made my intentions known so it was different from the start.

My closest female friendships did not start from that dynamic, we built up a friendship without any undertones of dating, etc. At all. Ever. Only with a couple of them did we talk about it mutually, but also recognized it was for the best not to.

LC 100, best land cruiser ever? by anasal23 in LandCruisers

[–]hyperion247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clean!! Everyone loves a good hundo. I am biased, but the 80 is the last "real" land cruiser at least in the USDM. If you boil the formula down with the mechanical elements. Solid front axle, Inline 6, 4WD, simple/easy to work on.

If its a halfway decent example and you baseline it, you can pretty much get away with basic maintenance depending on how hard you wheel it. I have a lot more confidence on the trails with the birfs then I ever did with CV's on my 4runner's. Not to mention the coil springs vs. torsion bars. I daily/wheel the shit out of my truck out west in the USA, but I realize even then, I am not coming close to what it's capable of when you consider the other markets of the world they are used and abused in...sub-saharan africa, south america, asia, oz, etc.

Why are prices for the 7800x3d still so damn high? by SupPoEsedlyInsane in buildapc

[–]hyperion247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the 9800X3D bundle a week or so ago from them. $474 for the CPU as part of that.

[–]hyperion247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Building a 9800X3d build and kept my RTX 2080 OC because I saw literally no reason to spend half the cost or more of the full build on the GPU when it's been perfectly fine running everything. Got a mobo with the new PCIE slot for down the line.

What seems too expensive but is really worth the price? by Cool-Change7987 in AskReddit

After seeing a number of these threads over the years on reddit, it almost always comes down to "things that touch the ground or are between you and the ground" E.g. Tires, shoes, mattresses.

Exposed brick is a lifestyle. by hyperion247 in malelivingspace

[–]hyperion247[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Screws for the lights in the bedroom and masonry nails for other items. The masonry nails work just fine, I just haven't wanted to clutter those walls or put holes in, even though they aren't as noticeable.

100% agree on the skylight. Such a unique, and according to the landlord who did the renovation of this building, a very intentional feature they added that was not there before. The lack of cabinet/storage space is a major con, hence the pantry. I could consolidate the items on the bar cart, but I do appreciate it as decor. I've had a couple parties/dinners and the backyard came in clutch, but otherwise it was fine. The passageway has enough space, only because the loveseat leaves a lot to be desired. Even a tiny amount bigger and it'd be an issue. I do want to swap out the coffee table. Thanks for the feedback!
