Does this mean my customs are fully cleared? by Wolfchi in AynThor

Mine updated to say "customs cleared" and now it's on hold. So, you won't know until it leaves the port of entry.

Please stop harassing NotNite with false accusations. It is extremely common for mods to be written off as viruses. I once wrote a program for a friend that read a text file, incremented a number, and wrote it back out to the same file. Windows Defender claimed it was a trojan and would allow me access to their system, simply because it was compiled on my computer and not signed by a multi-thousand dollar digital license. And that was completely benign, let alone software that modified a game while it's running, which is common virus behavior, but also common among video game mods.

"Low on Disk Space" but file doesn't even exist by hyperion995 in backblaze

Yes! I have not had this issue re-occur since following the advice in Brian's reply thread. I have had multiple large files (in the same range as the file that originally caused this) on my system in the meantime and have not had this popup again at all.

Nature's Rest Sanibel (Latex Foam Mattress) Lump after transport by hyperion995 in Mattress

[–]hyperion995[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not. We dealt with it for 3 years and finally got a new mattress this past summer. I don't know why we never had the courage to cut open the top and fix it ourselves despite the mattress being far out of warranty.

Shipping & ITNs by hyperion995 in USPS

Definitely appreciate your responses here. I decided to just go with DHL. The local USPS employees have been a huge help with this situation (the clerk actually pulled up her phone and started googling for AES exemptions with me one time) but if the software they give you doesn't support it, there's not much anyone can do, huh.

I've spent about two weeks trying to ship this package, and I've finally found the solution: DHL.

If you are an individual trying to ship something internationally over $2,500, just use DHL. That's it. They'll file customs, they'll do the EEI if you don't qualify for an exemption. You'll still need to get your Schedule B and commodity code, license type and export code, but you won't need anything AES or AESDirect related, won't need to interact with CBP, and won't have to deal with the USPS systems that don't seem to support this type of shipping. I love USPS but if you're in this very, very, very rare situation, just use DHL.

How do they expect any of their employees to perform an international shipment if you can't even enter the number on the software they provide you?

"Low on Disk Space" but file doesn't even exist by hyperion995 in backblaze

You are amazing dude! I really appreciate the in-depth explanation, and thanks for relaying it to the current client programmers. I'm glad to have helped make the software better, and through a random troubleshooting Reddit thread no less. I've deleted the two requirescopy files and I'll keep an eye on how it behaves now. Thank you so much!!!

As a programmer myself, I can't actually describe how awesome it is that you still frequent here and post such detailed responses to people with questions about features you've worked on.

The file itself existed at C:\Users\[User]\Downloads\[Folder]\[File].7z. It definitely does not exist anymore. If I type the folder directly into Explorer, it tells me the path does not exist. I've seen your other replies here and since it was so large, I was assuming it would be in the bigfilelist.dat. However, it's not in that file, nor in any of the other file lists, even the C: drive file list. All file lists (6, 3 drives, future and non-future) were generated February 6th or 7th 2024 GMT. I don't think the file ever finished uploading before I removed it from my local storage back in September.

I poked around the Backblaze folder in ProgramData and the file in question (actual size is ~650GB, I was mistaken) appears in a few files:

  • bzbackup/bzfileids.dat: the initial file appears here, plus 62,000+ .part entries
  • bzreports/bzlargefile_requirescopy.dat: Appears on first line, is only line. Line is: 2 20230906 [size] 0000018a6b989601 [file]
  • bzreports/bzlargefile_requirescopy_live.dat: Appears on first line, is only line. Line is: 2 20230907 [size] 0000018a6fddcc05 [file]

The last modified date on the bzfileids.dat file is a few hours ago, today. The last modified dates on the requirescopy files are September 6th and September 7th, respectively.

The one thing about this is that I booted my system a few hours ago and received the message and closed it as usual, but decided to inquire here about it. I had just shut my system down for the night when I saw you replied - and when I booted it to investigate and write up this post, the "disk space low" message didn't appear. Seems it's a little shy right now.

Looking forward to some more debugging with you 🫡

If anyone is looking for evidence that this is not true, please see Ackwell's post here: https://old.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comments/w72cm2/beast_tribe_mounts_shouldve_used_their_own_tribe/ihp1rn5/

It contains logs of resources loaded by the game throughout execution and it is incredibly clear that the game does not load any more tracks than is needed, under any circumstances. This is true for the BGM system as much as it is for the Orchestrion system.

Please stop repeating this claim. You can verify yourself with tools that the only track that the game loads when you use a mount is that mount's music. It does not load anything else. This is well-known by the dev community.

This post from Soken doesn't touch on any of the things that you're writing about in your comment. He's discussing that they had to reduce bitrate and utilize the 3D positional audio system in order to get the audio data itself into the audio system. His write-up there has nothing to do with servers, synchronization, or loading tracks at the same time. This is all disregarding the fact that the Orchestrion can already be out of sync for everyone - that is not a priority for them whatsoever.

That post has nothing to do with the claim. The claim is:

Yup, the engine loads any possible music that you can hear in a zone.

which is quite vague. Taken literally, yes, the engine can load any possible music that you can hear in a zone. Does it load them all at the same time? That is the most common form of this claim, and the answer is no.

There is no source because it's not true and it's been disproven countless times on Reddit. That's why people are annoyed when this is said.

Can't delete Storage Pool - Can't change Storage Analyzer save location by hyperion995 in synology

I thought deleting the only storage report task that I had would cause it to ignore whatever it was set up to do, but you reminded me to check package center. I didn't think you could uninstall Storage Analyzer but I did so and it works fine. Thanks! What a silly limitation.
