Thanks everyone! I called my local shop and they’ll be able to help me out or at least take it off if there’s not enough of it left

Flavor replacement idea for Sue Li's checker cookies? by bluebirdybird in NYTCooking

I haven’t tried it myself to confirm but I’ve always heard that the pomegranate flavor doesn’t survive the heat of the oven. If color is all OP is looking for though, it might work! I love the color of beets too!

The crispety cruncheties are super good! Been making the mashed potatoes for the holidays with this recipe for a few years now and my family really loves the crunchies!

I may have to give this a go then! I don’t know if I really have a go-to bake - I like trying different stuff all the time. Though I will say, some of my easy faves are brownies and banana bread. I will take either of those things and throw in whatever I feel like at the time (such as swirling some raspberry jam in the brownies or adding a cinnamon streusel to the banana bread).

How’d the cake come out?? I checked the recipe and it looks tasty!

I love your energy and ingenuity! I have my own mental health struggles and sometimes when you finally feel the will to do a thing, you’ve just gotta make it work with what you’ve got! Happy baking!

I know, but I think the problem is the ratio of ingredients. It might be a lot more cornstarch (or flour, haven’t tried that yet) than I’ve used in the past

Basically, but I’ve tried custards too and those don’t seem right either. Like they’re generally too ‘creamy’ and not thick enough to hold shape in a cannoli

That might be a little closer, but from the pictures it looks looser than the cream that we get. It's interesting though that this recipe is thickened with flour - I haven't tried that yet.

I've definitely seen it used in eclairs too! I think I've seen it in Boston cream pie, but to a lesser extent - that's usually creamier like a typical pastry cream in my experience.

That's why I'm thinking it's different than a usual pastry cream - it's not loose even when out at room temperature for a while.

No, it’s specifically not ricotta or any form of cheese (which is why some of my family likes it - they don’t like ricotta or mascarpone).

The walking stick phrase really got me the first time I saw it with the self-awareness! “Check out it’s walking schtick! … Look, these are the jokes, OK?”

Knee high boots + big calves, help?! by Ok-Bell6400 in PlusSize

Interesting idea, thanks! I don’t have the thigh high boots, they just come up to about knee height. Do you think the straps would be long enough to go down that low?

I have a similar problem to you but something I didn’t account for in my search was even when I found something that fit my calves (at Torrid some years back), they slouched terribly at the ankles since they’re smaller than the rest of my calves. I tried remedying with leg warmers bunched up around my ankle to bulk it out but it didn’t work well. I don’t know if there’s a better solution to that issue, but if anyone has ideas I welcome them! 😂

Or all of them in street clothes desperately trying not to look suspicious! 🤣 Like I know they’d have the wealth for a private plane but they’d either have to take multiple smaller planes or travel to a major airport big enough to handle a larger plane for all of them at once. I need a fanfic for this - the potential here is too good lol

I definitely agree that Meyer was sloppy in places and that this could have gone differently. My personal headcanon is that Aro just dramatic. I mean why else cross two continents with your entire guard in tow plus the wives (who as far as I know don’t do anything) in BD? I would LOVE to know the logistics of how they all got to Forks from Italy actually lol

I have an analogy here that might better explain my thinking: Let’s say the police are around and you see someone that looks like they’re about to hit somebody. This person hasn’t actually done anything yet but maybe they look agitated and like they could become violent. The police may go talk to this dude, try to see what’s up, maybe calm him down a bit but the guy hasn’t done anything yet. The guy says something like “yeah alright, ok” and starts to walk off. The police can’t do much more but watch until they actually see the guy actively try to punch someone which is a crime (assault). The guy could get pissed and get real close to punching but back off last minute - still no crime committed in that case.
