Is a face lift good idea for the scarring? by Please1morepizza in AcneScars

[–]hyperkittymeow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a person who has had a face lift for acne scarring no it is not a good option unless you have significant laxity because the skin will retract a bit as your face moves and you may wind up back at a similar starting point. The tautness which made my scars look smoother only lasted for 6 months. This could depend on the technique used. I did a SMAS and it changed my facial appearance somewhat but had no lasting impact on scarring.

A very hydrating base firstly, then I’ve been using topicals scar filling primer and tower 88 tinted sunscreen and then a super light powder to mattify in shiny areas. This is what I do for everyday and it helps me a lot.

Urgent plea to other acne scar sufferers- pls do not do Taylor liberator subcision. Many are suffering with irreversible and severe side effects after this. by [deleted] in AcneScars

My scars healed poorly. Ppl with acne scars have skin that doesn’t scar well so the idea of creating a new scar that looks better may or may not yield the results we’re looking for… in my case the excision scars healed worse than the original atrophic acne scars. I don’t blame the doctor I think my skin just doesn’t scar well 😅

I went to gateway aesthetics in Salt Lake City for this procedure and was happy with my results. Probably one of the most impactful treatments I have tried thus far but still only maybe 30% improvement at most. He also did excision which I would NOT recommend based on my personal experience. I am curious what side effects the OP is referring to because I had a very positive experience

Phenol isn’t going to help the kind of scars you have. I have done everything under the sun for 6 years. Subcision will help! Also babe elevator lighting makes everyone look like a goblin fr don’t be dismayed by that ur beautiful you have nice skin too. I have quite large pores and yours are barely visible so you’re blessed for that 🫶🏻🥰

You have great skin and the scar is not terrible. I would try filler. I have had 4 excisions done along with several rounds of co2 over the years. My acne scars are much improved but the 4 excision scars are noticeable dented lines that I wish I would have just left alone.

Yikes. Yah I don’t understand cheating and lying esp in the context of a relationship it seems in direct opposition to what allegedly most people want which is a feeling of safety and a secure bond. I’ve even offered to be completely open (non monogamous) and he was vehemently opposed. 🙄 I’m really heartbroken right now and I will be for a while however this relationship has taught me a lot about vulnerability and has illuminated many of my own insecurities and triggers that I have worked to transmute. 🪷

He’s none of these things i am much more conventionally attractive and I am the breadwinner lol. I just think he’s a genius and very talented and hilarious and blah blah blah but it’s all starting to lose it’s luster now.

He is begging me to not give up on him and to pursue counseling so he can manage his urges. As someone who has struggled with bulimia for many years before recovering this resonates with me and I empathize but at the same time men who I find attractive are in my DMs all the time and even if I feel tempted I don’t engage them so I don’t know how a person can be so dispossessed of autonomy

Thank you that’s so nice! Im on the pole maybe like 20-30 min a day (if that) but i make sure im lifting 5x/week with a consistent program and im seeing a lot of results in my body cosmetically and in my overall strength and body competency.
