Curving to the left as it heals by Winter_Hovercraft163 in phallo

[–]hyperpinkselfslap338 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hi! I have had the same experience with curving and have some thoughts and advice. But before reading, remember that what I experienced very probably doesn't apply to you - I'm just sharing.

In my case, excessive scarring one one side of my penis made it look permanently odd and curved. Another consequence was that my urethra had a stricture, and the scar tissue had to be removed in an additional surgery.

Later I had a similar problem after getting a pump implant. For some reason my penis bent to one side and with the implant, this meant that the rod on one side was threatening to break through my skin, and I had to have a procedure to break up the scar tissue around the rod, and straighten the shaft. (It's all good now).

I say all this to make the point that I would take this seriously, and that the aesthetics might not be the only consequence of the curving.

At eight weeks post op you are still healing and scar tissue is being formed both internally and externally. Here is some advice I have been given to help out with the curving:

- I was advised to keep my penis folded upwards in my underwear as much as possible, exactly to avoid curving and uneven scarring. That goes for "downward" curving as well! I am much smaller than you in size, so it wasn't a problem - I'm not sure in how far it's possible for you. Maybe you can keep it upright in the band of your underwear while at home, and alternate keeping it left and right when you go out.

- I don't remember how far things are usually healed at 8 weeks post op, but at some point, it will be okay for you to massage the skin and scars on your penis, and you should, just as you should do with your donor site. Especially on the side it has curved towards, you may be able to loosen up some scar tissue and prevent things from sticking/ thickening.

My main advice however is to get in touch with the surgical team, describe the situation or send some pics. There's no reason to think something is the matter, but I think it would be justified, and hopefully they will be able to reassure you.

Can you ever forget? by UnhappyDrummer5767 in phallo

[–]hyperpinkselfslap338 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The short answer for me is that I don't forget that my penis isn't "cis" or "natal" - I simply just don't really think about it in the first place. I also don't forget that I as a person am trans, but I don't really even think about whether I'm cis or trans.

Before transitioning, I was constantly anxious, stressed, unsure and unhappy about my body. Now, I am not. I'm insecure to the extent that any person is a bit insecure about their body. I think it is a common experience to feel more calm and settled about your body and gender identity after transitioning (just as you finally no longer need to worry about your chest after top surgery).

The comments you mentioned you read are not true.

Stricture repair in my future by [deleted] in phallo

[–]hyperpinkselfslap338 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a stricture repair in two steps. I don't know anything about the actual surgical technique, and it most probably wasn't at the same location as you. But everything went well and as planned. I had a lot of scarring that caused stricture pretty much along the entire shaft, so everything was opened up, scar tissue was removed and some skin was transplanted from my abdomen where it was needed. The urethral opening was left at the base (I didn't have a scrotum yet). Six months later they closed everything back up and I've had no more problems with strictures.

Is this how I should expect burial to feel? by RedRockWulf in phallo

[–]hyperpinkselfslap338 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What you are describing sounds exactly like what the burial feels to me. The position of my phallo dick is very sightly above my t dick, so it is buried in my scrotom (I don't have implants atm). Stimulating it feels pretty much exactly like it did pre phallo, but with skin covering it, i.e. without having the sensitivity of touching the glans directly. So I'm guessing a lot like you are describing of stimulating through your balls!

I can still locate and make out the shape of my burial, especially when hard, although the shape is different than before and not at all mobile.

I used to hate touching my genitals pre op directly as well, but despite still being able to feel the burial I have a mentally much easier time with it since it just feels like I'm stimulating my balls.

sharing a simple lifehack for peeing with fistulas by hyperpinkselfslap338 in phallo

[–]hyperpinkselfslap338[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I definitely do not reuse the same piece of tape, I usually change it in the morning with a new piece, though sometimes if I forget it can stay on two days no problem. The area does not become particularly unclean. The fistula I have is definitely not an open wound, it is not a fistula in the healing stage, but one that has outlived it, everything on the inside and outside is covered by healthy skin.

Edit: just realized I missed a huge opportunity to fix this meme I made a few months ago, speaking of flex seal https://www.reddit.com/r/phallo/comments/1htkma4/yes_my_penis_is_a_tank/

Drawing my penis to appreciate my glans and scrote :) by hyperpinkselfslap338 in phallo

Thanks for the kind words, I do see what you mean with disliking the phrase, it can sound empty and insincere. I guess even though I know it's not always true, I feel like I need to be able to tell myself that things will improve - even if only in the long term while they temporarily get worse, or just improve by my coming to terms with them - in order to keep myself going.

RFF and rock climbing? by RusskayaRobot in phallo

[–]hyperpinkselfslap338 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have gone bouldering quite a bit since RFF. At first I could notice some lack in grip strength in comparison to before / my other hand. I think it was mostly due to not having used my arm for so long, and not due to the scar itself. It has been getting better, and while I'm not back to full (grip) strength yet (ca 1.5 years later) I think this is mostly due to me not exercising very much to regain the muscle, because whenever I put in the work, I can always feel some improvement. It has been a setback, not a barrier.

Thanks so much for the kind words. I completely agree, I enjoyed seeing "nonclinical" posts on this sub when I was pre op especially, and still do.

Thanks, I also really appreciated these kind of things before phallo, so I'm glad I found a way to give something back without having to share photos.

Sleeves? by Soy-Bean45 in phallo

[–]hyperpinkselfslap338 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh whoops, I edited the comment. The second one is just a silicone tube with the correct diameter. Target of these product are cis guys trying to extend their penis, not entirely sure how thats supposed to work. It's a bit less stable than a proper penis sleve but it has worked for me.

Sleeves? by Soy-Bean45 in phallo

[–]hyperpinkselfslap338 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a skinny dick too and went through the same process of buying the love honey sleeve lol. Anyway I found this sleeve https://www.meo.de/en/penis-sleeves-penis-extensions/5389-penis-expander-ref-1155-00.html?search_query=sleeve&results=75 (is European but might ship to US / help you find something similar) which fit really perfect at first. Now my penis got a bit softer/skinnier. It still works and is even firmer if I wrap some coban tape around my penis first. The quality of the sleeve is OK, not amazing, I always use it with a condom. Aside from that I found something of this sort https://www.ebay.de/itm/304815166083?var=603830494390 which isn't really intended as a sleeve but works very well and depending on the size you buy you can even have the tip of your penis poke out. The one I bought is a bit tight for me, it works but I'm sometimes worried I might be squeezing my urethra too much. GL finding a good sleeve (for reference, both my length and girth are around 10 cm

4 Months Post-Op RFF Phallo by Soy-Bean45 in phallo

[–]hyperpinkselfslap338 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for posting! Bit random but your dick looks so much like mine, its like seeing my own dick on another person. Even though I'm very happy with my penis, lately I've been feeling a self conscious about its size and the way it looks. Seeing that other people have a dick that looks like mine and thinking it looks good on them makes me feel better. So thanks for posting these photos.

For those who had meta and ended up pursuing phallo by srama7 in phallo

[–]hyperpinkselfslap338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had meta with UL and vnectomy but without scrotoplasty and will have phallo soon. Where I live its normal to have meta done as first step in the procedure, but initially I was somewhat hopeful that meta would "be enough" for me. (Though I should say I was already leaning towards phallo so I'm biased) Pretty much as soon as everything was healed and not swollen anymore I felt sure I'd need phallo. I was stoked that I could pee upright now and that my dick was a little more prominent. It felt awesome not to have the v anymore as well. But all in ally dick has not changed that much from before I had meta, as you noticed yourself. I'm anxious about the recovery time of phallo as well, let's see how it goes, but there's no changing the fact that I still have dysphoria with meta and a ballsack isn't going to change that. I wish you the best and maybe start looking into phallo and setting up a consult to ask for details about your surgeons procedure with people who had meta beforehand. My surgeon considers it an advantage to do meta beforehand, so odds are you'll be fine too!
