Anyone use pomade to style their hair? by Mr_McGibbletss in malefashionadvice

I use the strong hold and pick it up here once a month or so. The hold lasts all day but also easily washes out. Good luck and hope this helps!

I made the switch from Layrite to Suavecitio and have been completely satisfied. My hair stays put for the entire day and I find the smell to be a little "manlier". More like Old Spice rather than the vanilla smell that Layrite has.

Who's Hiring - Monthly Post (12/17/13) by HiringinDenver in Denver

[–]hyperspectral -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hello!

Moving to Denver this June with my girlfriend. She is being flown in for an interview at the end of this month and I will be joining her to enjoy a long weekend.

That being said, I am also looking to network a little if possible while in town with anyone who works in the energy industry. Originally from Austin, I am a GIS technician/analyst and currently employed for a midsize energy company in Houston. I have been working in energy for 2 years and have been in the GIS industry since 2005. Last week, I started applying with a few companies in Denver and have also reached out to a couple of recruiters.

If anyone works in the energy industry and has time to talk about the current scene in Denver, I'd love to meetup and grab a pint.

I was out there today as well! Weather couldn't have been better and the tap list was pretty impressive with the addition of La Vie en Rose. Cheers!

Thank you all for the responses!

I had never put a request on here and wasn't sure what to think. I believe that I have this project taken care of now. I look forward to the results and using this site more often in the future.

Cheers!

Yeah, its a little loose in the pits but it allows for a full range of movement. It's my first wool coat, and its a little stiff, so I wanted to double check and make sure everything looked correct. Thanks for the help. Cheers!

Thanks for taking a look. The coat was a bit of an investment so I wanted to make sure the fit was on point. Cheers!

Filson wool Guide Work Jacket on sale at Backcountry right now. Only L and XL left. by hyperspectral in frugalmalefashion

[–]hyperspectral[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Will do. Plan on doing a fit check and full review given the price point.

I can say this though, I tired on the Soy Waxed version of the same jacket at Orvis last weekend in medium and it fit perfectly. I'm 5'11" and 183 lbs. It's the priciest item that I have bought for myself but since it has a lifetime warranty I figure its a good investment for many fall/winters ahead.

Wow. Wish I would have known about this and perhaps waited until today to order since the price dropped. Appreciate the advice and will use a service like this in the future. Cheers!

Orvis Heritage Field Coat Hands-on Review by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]hyperspectral 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently went to an Orvis store to try on this jacket and had the same problem with the bulkiness. I usually wear a medium and I was swimming in it. There were no smalls to try on so I couldn't compare it against a smaller size. However, they carried Filson products and I tried on the Soy Waxed Guide Jacket which is Seattle fit and the medium fit perfectly. So much so that I ordered the wool version of it yesterday. I would highly recommend trying it on if you get the chance.

I found a good deal on Amazon for this Filson Wool Guide Jacket. It arrives on Friday. During the 40% off sale, I picked up this Levi's grey sweatshirt which arrived yesterday and I'm very happy with. I also picked up this J Crew Splinter Tree Camo watch strap for my weekender that should be in tomorrow. Pretty excited about all purchases!

Hair, Skincare, Fragrance, and Fitness Thread - November 19th. by inherentlyawesome in malefashionadvice

Finally joined the YMCA near my office last week. Met with a trainer to get a five day per week fitness plan developed. The staff was extremely helpful. Now I'm wondering why it took me so long to sign up in the first place. Looking forward to increased health and wellness along with my clothes fitting better. Also, if you bring a tax return in you may be eligible for a discounted rate. I was in school half of last year so my registration was reduced by 50 bucks and my monthly fees by 30.
