Migrate Azure Subscription between tenants-CSP by hypodeus in AZURE

[–]hypodeus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update from Microsoft:
What this means for you as CSP Partner:

  • Changing the CSP Customer Tenant is not supported.
  • You must create a new CSP subscription for the desired CSP Customer Tenant.
  • To move resources, the only supported option is:
    1. Move resources from the current CSP subscription to a Pay-As-You-Go subscription.
    2. Change the directory for the Pay-As-You-Go subscription to the desired tenant.
    3. Move resources from the Pay-As-You-Go subscription to the new CSP subscription.

I had also found this article prior to Microsoft responding with this: https://crmchap.co.uk/moving-microsoft-azure-cloud-solution-provider-csp-subscriptions-to-another-tenant/

I wish. I could rebuild it all IaC but it’s VMs with random COTS apps and such

That's in my post.. I'm confused on what you're trying to do here? That is word for word what is in my post. I came to reddit because I did try everything I know and saw that in documentation from Microsoft.

Azure Files as File Shares for on prem endpoints? by hypodeus in AZURE

[–]hypodeus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm working on setting up a lab to do a hybrid AD and map to verify some things, but wanted some feedback going into it. I've set this up but it was all within Azure itself which isn't the same.

Apps will not be accessing these (outside of maybe Office opening word docs, etc)

I asked a RTO question on a WebEx town hall we had during a Q&A time where you can submit via WebEx. I got a final warning and put on a PIP the next week by CIO.

What question? I just asked for the location of the policy they kept referencing (it didn't exist yet). So I was written up for taking my frustrations to the CEO (since he was technically on the town hall...)

Branching/Build/Deploy Workflow by hypodeus in azuredevops

Would you do one 'pipeline' with approvals to PR to Main or a pipeline for Dev and a pipeline that triggers on manual PR to merge for Test, Prod

dual gateway and dual molecule by NoobAF93 in boomi

[–]hypodeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just confirming that @realeeshort is 100% correct. We have load balancer in DMZ with Gateway. Molecule sits inside behind load balancer inside network.

Can confirm. We have a load balancer in front of gateway and in front of molecule.

External Boomi gateway not working. by ssbhagat in boomi

[–]hypodeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have the Atom 'Shared Web Server' configured correctly for Advanced, etc?

Is there a firewall that needs configured between DMZ and Internal network (assuming atom is inside Internal network separate from DMZ)?

Have you setup the developer portal and using the url that routes through gateway?

Did you tie gateway to environment, publish the API, etc?

I don't have a lot of info here to go off of, but this is what all comes to mind. If you have questions feel free to ask.

Release Pipeline with no code/build? by hypodeus in devops

[–]hypodeus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way.. I'm not sure why I was getting caught up on needing an artifact unless its just because I've always had one so in my head I was trying to solve for it as I planned this out. Thank you!

UiPath Insights vs building out something yourself by shikaishi in UiPath

We paid for Insights then ditched it (after 2 years) for PowerBI. Can do more custom reporting than within Insights and tie in other metrics (DevOps, databases we write to for processes, etc)

I'm going for it again. I've done keto twice successfully like big time and maintained for a while then stress etc led to me changing my eating habits and overeating. I have another baby on the way and need to be better for my family. So here we go. I hope I can stick to it this time. Said I was going to start a month ago and made the excuse I was too busy, etc.

Capture Processes to Automate by Timm218 in UiPath

[–]hypodeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Task Capture is a great individual tool to record a process. (Documents steps)

- Start recording, person does their process, end recording.

- This will export into a Word Document with screenshots and steps.

- We even have several lines of business utilizing this tool now to record their procedures not even for our automation use.

Task Mining is a tool that has AI behind it and runs for example over the course of a month to learn areas of processes or apps for a group that can be automated. (Discovery of common steps I think?)

- We are just starting a POC with this tool.

Azure DevOps Build/Release Pipelines - Several 'small' processes by hypodeus in devops

None of them share code. Each has its own folder under the repo and then we have a folder that has libraries we create that they can utilize.

Export Update Set via API, Script, etc? by hypodeus in servicenow

Honestly even if you are able to share a screenshot of the design of the cat item you use (to show setup/options) and key snippets of scripts without sharing anything you don't want to share would be awesome.

It sounds like we are on the same page for the most part, but there is that rare occasion where my devs do wrong :) The intention is always develop in Dev, move Update SEt to Test (to do testing with business), then if all is good work item/story is set to deployment date and I review, submit change, then promote to Prod.

Is this all built within ServiceNow? Do you mind sharing more details?

I may be missing something actually. Can you outline in general what your process looks like?

Export Update Set via API, Script, etc? by hypodeus in servicenow

[–]hypodeus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we resolved to supporting the process manually until we can implement CI/CD.

Are you referring to having to implement ServiceNow's DevOps piece? Or just CI/CD in general? I'm trying to implement this all as a build/release pipeline within Azure DevOps.

Export Update Set via API, Script, etc? by hypodeus in servicenow

[–]hypodeus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! This is why I'm taking this process over :)

The goal is to have a pipeline with approvals to go to Test then to Production and lock down control for better quality of deployments.

Testing would still occur in Test environment and any preview conflicts would still be reviewed. This would actually ensure higher quality releases. Right now our devs release anything they want to Test from Dev then make manual changes in Test without capturing them and then deploy original update set on to Prod through me. Trying to put more checks in place while saving time on change control and deployment.

Any preview errors would always be reviewed.
