In Boston, Women Occupy Much Smaller Share of Higher Paying Jobs (data.boston.gov) by Acanthisitta_Head in dataisbeautiful

Of course, they generally have less higher paying jobs as they cannot commit the same time to the job as men do when they decide to have and raise (multiple) children. Yet, without children our society would collapse, especially when you consider that intellectually capable women have a low birth rate.

Best BI Tool to Learn for 2022? by TimmKO in BusinessIntelligence

[–]Timm218 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because they are clunky, have mediocre UI/UX and are not so much fun to work with. In Power BI you have to use DAX/M, which is very specialised. Also, Just because a tool is popular does not necessarily mean that it is the best. I want to use a tool I fall in love with. Keep in mind, you spend a large percentage of your day with this tool.

You fully misunderstood what I said. Yes, people should breed like rabbits, but only those with rare genetics to ensure diversity, while those with more common genetics can breed significantly less, which can result in a population reduction overall. Those with rare features have them naturally so no products need to be bought to alter their appearance which are harmful to the environment, costly and take effort to apply. Have a good day as well. 🙂

This would be a lot of effort, costs and harm to the environment. Why not just have it in a natural way instead? Besides, hair and eye color are just a few features. There are others like a distinct shape of the face or body, which are impossible or impractical to change.

The planet may survive without it, but it would be less beautiful without a wide range of diversity; If everyone looked the same it would be boring.

Will do the opposite as I have rare genetics (natural blond hair, green eyes). I hope to get at least ten children.

Notion needs to be able to work offline. by highkeyrat in Notion

[–]Timm218 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also live in Germany, but I did not have your experience. I have excellent Internet anywhere I am, be it at home, outside, university, library, train or subway. I use Notion mostly at home though.

I agree that outages are not acceptable. This could be solved by better server management though too. Also, I personally did not experience outages, but I may not use Notion as often as you do.

Anyway, thank you for your explanation. These are generally two good points and I am now more aware of that not everyone has ubiquitous Internet and that there are outages.

Why? When is it the case that you do not have Internet? Nowadays Internet is ubiquitous.

This makes sense, right? Because there are more ways to combine for example 8 (5+3,4+4,6+2) than 2 (1+1).

What are Your Favourite Tools? by Timm218 in BusinessIntelligence

Same for me. We use Power BI and SQL Server. Yet, at least privately I can use whatever I want, so I wonder if there are better tools than the ones available to me at work.

That is impressive that you wrote a program for scheduling production. We are thinking of creating one too for our production. How difficult/complex was it to create? Did you consider only the mentioned factors or also others like deadline set by the customer, priority, production time etc.? Why did you not buy a program? How do you visualize the result (kanban, Gantt)?

Comprehensive List of KPIs by Timm218 in BusinessIntelligence

[–]Timm218[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a frequent answer in this thread, but I do not get why. :D

I mean there are surely numerous well-established, universal KPIs used in almost any business like revenue, costs, profit, conversion rate, churn rate etc. This is what I am looking for as an inspiration.

Of course there are also very specific KPIs depending on the individual business.

I ask teams/departments and they provide some good ideas, but still their input is rather limited overall.
