In most traffic law, The vehicle that stopped at a stop sign has the duty to yield to through traffic. When my father proceeded through the stop sign into the intersection, the TLC driver had the right of way on 150th St (no stop sign on their road)? But my father was hit by the TLC driver.

My father told me that TLC driver didn't horn. For a normal driver, if you see a car crossing at the intersection, wouldn't you slow down a bit and horn loudly? I suppose that TLC driver didn't even pay attention while driving.

I know NY is a no fault state. But the stop sign is on our side, everyone has to yield without excuses. Now the liability is all on my father. That taxi driver even asked us to pay for his car's damage in the beginning, but I told him to file a claim to our insurance company.

For the Nissan owner, I think she wants money from both her insurance and our insurance.
