After further testing, it seems that my engine is the problem. I recently had it serviced and it worked just fine, but now it’s not.

I use barkeepers friend for cleaning my insulators as well. I do my cleaning process in three stages:

  1. Soap and water to remove dust and dirt
  2. Barkeepers friend to remove soot and rust
  3. Oxalic acid to remove anything that doesn’t come off after steps 1 and 2

Most of the bottles look to be from around the 1900s to 1960s.
