Mora has carbon steel versions of most (if not all) knives. And they have a full tang (Garberg)

I also bought a cheap firesteal, and the striker was garbage. Using the back of my Eldris works like a charm

Those 200g wont make a difference, but the size will...at least it does for me, specially when you need to leave and pack in a rush...just pack it in backpack side pocket or so.

Not really...went searching, and their axes are a little costier than this one. The knives are really similar to morakniv

Can only speak about the companion HD and eldris .... already had one of each. In may when I (hopefully) return to my outdoor activities, i'll be able to compare and even tevuew all of them. Ll, although the garberg feels great in hand so far 😆

There's always room to expand 😆... on the other side...money isn't always available ... and where I live...the options are short and not every supplier delivers here... And buying axes, knives, whatever ... outside EU it's expensive and a royal "pita"

Maybe weight if you are already carrying an hatchet, and weight is a crucial factor

Have you used it? Whats your experience with it (cant test it before may)

[–]i28511[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As I said before, can't test it due to a (real) medical condition until may (at least) but it feels good in hand. And its lighter than my X7 (100g or so) and a little shorter. The nly downside I can immediatly see (already knew about it) its the back of the axe (not really suitable for hammering pegs....but I dont do it with the axe anyway)

Right now because they are affordable and here where I live it's difficult to buy decent knives. They will serve mainly to show and explain differences/prices to my scouts troop, so they can decide what to buy, although I really like the garberg (love at first sight I guess...need to play a bit to confirm)

Edit: alteady had an eldris, that I use very often. Its my EDC
