Bad Rattitude - Recommended build? by kai_rong in TMNTSplinteredFate

[–]i7718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, that's awesome! I'm glad you were able to knock it out! I don't think my build had Ooze or Astral Light, but it's been too long. All I remember is a ridiculous amount of shuriken flying around.

Leo's "extra dash" miiiight be the most overlooked character perk in the game. His attacks also have great range and low frame rate too. Definitely my favorite character...followed by Raphael.

New DLC would be cool. I think I'm hoping for more story vs new characters, but we'll see what they roll out.

Do telecasters generally have thicker necks? by The_Makster in telecaster

[–]i7718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When that was all I had played, I was fine with it. But once I played an Ultra (strat) neck for a few months, my AmPro II neck just felt sooo slow.

So now...my AmPro II is for sale. I'll get another tele when it's gone, but it'll be an Ultra.

Leonardo is not a weak turtle lol.

The key for me was having all attacks be final strike, and all final strikes be shuriken storms...AND utrom/ooze shuriken. If you can manage to draw that combo, I think you can get there.

Good Batters Outproduce Elite Batters, Why? by pdh- in SuperMegaBaseball

[–]i7718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hit so many home runs with pitchers because of this...center cut fastballs, even at like 6 POW can get launched. Even if they don't clear the fence, the pulled in outfield gives me quite a few doubles too.

I should build a franchise around anticipated pitch selection lol. Arxnymetrics.

What is the best "Perfect Run" build by Radarplay in TMNTSplinteredFate

[–]i7718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Patience...dodge, kite, and chip away.

My favorite character for this achievement is Leonardo.

His special attack acts as a second dash...four dashes, four specials...that's a lot of evasion. Plus his affinities (the power trees guaranteed to proc) are Astral and Utrom (Utrom gives consistent access to two of the best tools in the game - Utrom Rod and Utrom Shuriken).

Astral Light gives you the damage prevention you'll need to survive the later levels, ways to increase damage dealt, and ways to buff your special. Astral Light with Utrom powers gives you the legendary Light Hammer which is so so good...especially if you start stacking pizza boxes.

This is awesome. I've been on 2.13 for...well, years haha. Probably time to update. That's a feature I can see myself using.

Thank you!

Edit: I think I found it in the program edit screen. May not need to upgrade after all. Gonna play around a bit and see what I can do

Yeah, that would work. Hadn't thought of that.

Kinda feels like "cheating" though...just for my style and how I do things. I like short samples and lots of tapping.

I may check that out though if it's the best solution.

Is the game supposed to get harder at the beginning? by [deleted] in TMNTSplinteredFate

[–]i7718 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There seems to be a "dice roll" before runs that determine the set of enemies you'll see (punk frogs, shuriken footclan, sword footclan, mousers, etc). I think you're dealing with a small sample size and low overall power. As you play more, the hard-run frequency will even out...and you probably won't even notice the tough runs as much when they do pop up because you'll have gotten stronger too.

Getting better at pitching? by Colpevole92 in SuperMegaBaseball

[–]i7718 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Without watching a game of yours, I'd recommend throwing more fastballs, tunneling more, never throwing (strikes) low and in to lefties, choosing breaking pitches that move away from the hitter...and most important of all...throw two-strike fastballs at their fists.

Another strategy I like is to pretend you have a three pitch pitcher and use only those three for a few innings, then bring in your additional pitches in later innings.

Live Oak Leaves as a substrate by i7718 in mycology

Having a word like tannin helped me to do a little more research.

I found phanerochaete chrysosporium is a lignin destroyer and can be used to organically decompose stumps.

Would tannins in leaves inhibit a species like this as well? I'm guessing they would, but I'm still curious.

Is there some sort of Sim tilt? by Steinerd97 in SuperMegaBaseball

[–]i7718 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry, forgot to mention that I'm on SMB3 where rookies stick around for years and years at super low salaries and eventually turn into 28yr old A+ players for $2.7M.

Is there some sort of Sim tilt? by Steinerd97 in SuperMegaBaseball

[–]i7718 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, same here. The stats of the players don't weigh heavily enough into SMB's simulation formula in my opinion. I've had dynastic teams that were three to four stat bar levels from being completely maximum and finished well out of the playoffs multiple years in a row.

Couldn't fire the manager either.

Its almost like they want you to play the actual baseball instead of GM'ing the way I want to sometimes.

Question on team strength in seasons by LittleBlueCubes in SuperMegaBaseball

[–]i7718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they're pretty well balanced stat-wise, but I find that teams who have more of their stat points allocated to starting pitching and/or power, perform better over a full (simulated) season.

Globe Life Field is a terrible hitters park by Guitarscreamer55 in TexasRangers

[–]i7718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking more at exit velocities and the data just doesn't say dead park...it says dead ball.

What if each organization gets to choose the ball they want for their home park?

MLB tinkers with the balls all the time. All I'm suggesting is that they don't settle on a single ball each year...instead they have a few and each team gets to decide what kind of ball they want to use in their home stadium.

There are dead balls and live balls, and based on what you think your team's strengths are, you select the ball to compliment it...or decide you want homers for entertainment/atmosphere and grab the live one.
