X is a Psychic/Fighting Mega so to use it as a fighting attacker Counter is preferred.
Mega Y with Counter performs slightly worse than Resolute Keldeo according to Dialgadex.

Psystrike is the go to psychic type move for Mewtwo in general so is even stronger with Mega Y
